The New York Yankees swept the Kansas City Royals last week, then promptly went to Oakland and lost 3 out of 4 to the lowly A’s. They were shutout yesterday by Jesse Chavez and averaged less than 3 runs a game in the series. The Yanks came in averaging 4.5 runs a game. They are still 3rd in the majors with 63 home runs on the year. Things won’t get any easier tonight against Felix Hernandez. The Yankees must find some more offense and prevent this from being an awful West Coast trip.

New York has their ace on the mound tonight in Michael Pineda. This will be his 11th start on the season. He is 6-2 with a 3.36 ERA and has 67 strikeouts in 64 innings. He was roughed up in two outings in May, but came back strong in his latest outing allowing only 1 run in 6.1 innings while striking out 8. Pineda is 3-1 on the road, but his ERA is a robust 4.62. He started 28 games with Seattle in 2011 before running into injury issues.

Just like the Yankees, Seattle swept the Rays last week then came home and lost 3 of 4 to Cleveland. The Mariners started the season slow, but climbed all the way back to .500 on Friday night before losing the last 2 to the Tribe. Seattle has had a tough time all year finding some offense. You would think with the bats they have, they would score more runs. They are 28th in runs scored and 29th in batting average. The only one hitting over .300 is Nelson Cruz and he’s having an MVP type season hitting .335 with 18 homers and 38 RBI.

King Felix takes the mound for Seattle. Once again, he’s having a CY Young type season with an 8-1 record and 1.91 ERA. He’s coming off a complete game shutout in St. Petersburg on Wednesday. He’s faced the Yankees three times in the last 2 years and has only allowed 4 runs in 20 innings.

This should be a great pitchers duel and for that reason, we are not taking any hitters in our Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup. The total is too low (6) to take the under. Pineda hasn’t been as dominant as he was to start the season, so I’m going to lay the -148 and take Felix.

Pick: Mariners -148
