The Golden State Warriors look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers for Game 3 of their series on Saturday night. Warriors All-Star Kevin Durant sat out Game 2, but the Warriors showed their incredible depth in blowing out the Blazers 110-81. Five Warriors scored in double-figures including Ian Clark and JaVale McGee off the bench en route to the easy win. Steph Curry led the way with 19 points and Draymond Green recorded an assist-rebound double-double (10 and 12). “It’s the depth we rely on throughout the course of the year, and it showed through tonight,” Green told reporters after the win. Durant said he would have been able to go in Game 2 but the team decided to take the cautious approach and could elect to do the same on Saturday, though Durant wants to be in the lineup. Durant would get a full seven days off if Golden State elects to hold him out of Game 3. Small forward Matt Barnes (ankle) and point guard Shaun Livingston (finger) are both questionable for Saturday.

The Blazers lack of depth and playmakers other than guard Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum is showing why they were just a .500 team this season. Lillard and McCollum combined for 75 points in Game 1 but was held to 23 on 9-of-34 shooting in Game 2. Swingman Allen Crabbe is not helping much on the offensive end either, as he is just 4-of-15 in the series, including 1-of-8 from 3-point range. The Trail Blazers could also use some defensive presence in the paint after allowing Golden State’s center duo of Zaza Pachulia and McGee to go 12-of-15 from the field in Game 2. Portland’s leading scorer in Game 2 was small forward Maurice Harkless (15), but the fourth-year player from St. John’s was only 5-of-14 from the floor and 1-of-5 from 3-point land. As a team, Portland shot a dismal 33.3% from the field and 7-of-34 from beyond the arc – numbers that will need to improve significantly if they want to get back in the series.

This series is over. The change of venue won’t help the undermanned Portland team get back in this series. I don’t care what the spread is in this game, Golden State will win by double-digits. Portland might keep it interesting for a half, but that’s it.

Pick: Warriors -6
