The return of two big name receivers will be the focal point of tonight’s contest between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets. Randy Moss makes his return to the Vikings after spending a few years in New England and Santonio Holmes comes off suspension to play for the Jets. The Vikings really need someone like Moss. Brett Favre has been terrible, but it’s not totally his fault. His receivers have been hurt. Sidney Rice is still out with a hip injury and Percy Harvin is still suffering from migranes so you don’t always know what you’ll get out of him. Favre’s QB rating is a dismal 60.4 as he’s thrown only 2 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He should benefit from the return of Moss and the fact that the Jets are 23rd against the pass. Minnesota’s defense has been a bright spot, however. They rank 2nd in the NFL allowing only 12.7 points a game. Both teams have a good rushing attack as the Jets rank 1st and Vikings 5th. The Vikings Adrian Peterson will have a hard time finding holes against the Jets 3rd ranked rushing defense. Jets QB Mark Sanchez has been outstanding so far throwing 8 TD’s and no interceptions. I’m going with the Favre on Monday night and hopefully these trends will back me up. Vikings have won 5 straight ATS in Week 5 while the Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Week 5 games. Also, the Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Monday night games.

Pick: Minnesota +4
