Opening Odds: Milwaukee -118/8.5

The Milwaukee Brewers are bashing the ball out of the park lately and look to keep that going Wednesday when they go for a three-game series sweep of the Minnesota Twins at Miller Park. Milwaukee has homered in nine consecutive games for the first time since last August and boast 14 during the streak. The Brewers have won four of five meetings in the season series including Tuesday’s 2-0 shutout to become the first National League team to reach 50 wins and maintaining a one-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. The win clinched a series victory for the Brewers, who had split their previous four. Brewers SS Brad Miller is on an eight-game hitting streak, but he’s just 10-for-28 during it. The Twins are fading fast in the AL Central, dropping 10 of their last 12 games and have just one win on their nine-game road trip that wraps up Wednesday. Minnesota managed only two hits Tuesday, wasting a strong pitching performance from a staff that has struggled to produce them of late. The Twins had allowed six or more runs in nine of their previous 11 games.

Pitchers: Twins – Jose Berrios (8-6, 3.52 ERA) | Brewers – Chase Anderson (6-6, 4.18)

Jose Berrios had allowed a total of our runs in his previous four starts before getting hammered in Wrigley Field last time out, yielding six runs over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Cubs. Berrios also had posted quality starts in seven of his previous eight outings. He’s had his troubles away from Target Field this season, going 2-4 with a 4.93 ERA in seven starts.

Chase Anderson got off to an awful start this season, but is beginning to turn things around, allowing one run or fewer and two or fewer hits in three of his last four starts. That includes his latest outing against the Reds when he allowed one run and two hits over six innings in picking up his sixth win. Anderson hasn’t pitched well at home this season, going 3-3 with a 5.29 ERA in nine starts after he was 5-1 with a 2.51 ERA at Miller Park in 2017.

The Twins are just a mess right now. They can’t seem to put together a game where their hitting and pitching both produce. The Brewers have dominated the season series and should be able to sweep them here.

Pick: Brewers -105
