Recent Meetings A couple of 6-2 teams take the College Football center stage tonight on ESPN. Neither South Florida or Rutgers have a shot at winning the Big East, but both will improve their Bowl position with a win tonight in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Bulls got back on track last week after losing their first two games of the season. B.J. Daniels as stepped in nicely for South Florida in replacing Matt Grothe at quarterback. Daniels has thrown 10 touchdowns and also ran for 519 yards. We’ll be hearing from him a lot over the next 3+ seasons. Rutgers QB Tom Savage has 8 TD’s to only 1 interception, but only completes 56% of his passes. Joe Martinek leads the Scarlet Knights rushing attack with 601 yards and 7 touchdowns, but has been held in check 3 of the last 4 weeks. The two losses for each of these teams came against Cincinnati and Pitt. No shame there. I will give Rutgers the edge at home and the fact that they were more competitive against Pittsburgh.
