The point spread for this year’s Pinstripe Bowl between the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Iowa State Cyclones opened up at -2 in favor of the Knights at Bovada Sportsbook on 12/12/11. As of Thursday afternoon (12/22), the line has inched down to 1.5. Bovada hasn’t released a total, but most books have it set at 44.5. Right now, 59% of the betting public is on Iowa State and 63% are on the over. To help you better decide who to bet, take a look at these trends for tonight.
Scarlet Knights are 5-1-2 ATS in their last 8 games in December.
Scarlet Knights are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 neutral site games.
Cyclones are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
Cyclones are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games.
Over is 5-1 in Scarlet Knights last 6 games following a S.U. loss.
Over is 4-1 in Scarlet Knights last 5 Bowl games.
Under is 5-1 in Cyclones last 6 games overall.
Under is 4-1-1 in Cyclones last 6 games in December.
My Prediction: Iowa State is very lucky to be playing in this game. If not for their upset win against Oklahoma State, the Cyclones would be sitting home. Rutgers’ defense should be able to slow down Iowa State’s running attack. The Knight’s simply have more quality wins and will have a huge advantage with their fans in Yankee Stadium.
