The Baltimore Orioles just dropped 2 games at Citi Field in New York, now they go across town to the Bronx to take on the Yankees in the start of a 4-game series. The O’s struggled to score runs off the Mets pitching staff. They scored just 3 runs in their two loses. In fact, they are averaging just over 2 runs a game in their last 5. Despite those recent offensive struggles, they are still ranked 4th in the majors with almost 5 runs a game and 3rd with a .273 batting average. Their pitching, which has been poor to start the season has only allowed 12 runs in the last 5 games. Now if they can just start hitting again, they can climb out of the American League East basement.

Chris Tillman makes his 5th start this year and he’s been dreadful so far. He’s 2-3 with a whopping 6.23 ERA in 26 innings. In fairness to him, he’s had 3 decent starts, but the other two were bad. Both against Toronto. The Blue Jays have hit him for 14 runs in 7 innings. This will be his first start against the Yankees this season. He pitched 6 strong innings against New York the last time he faced them back in September.

The Yankees have cooled off a bit after sweeping the Red Sox in Boston over the weekend, losing 2 of 3 in Toronto. They still own the best record in the A.L. East at 17-11. Their bullpen has been very good this year and is saving their starting rotation which has not been very good so far. Closer Andrew Miller has 11 saves on the season and has not allowed a run in 13 2/3 innings. He has also struck out 23 batters which is more than tonight’s starter, Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi has probably been the Yankees most consistent starter. He owns a 2-0 record in 5 starts and a 3.81 ERA. This will be his first career start against Baltimore.

Pick: OVER 9 +110
