The highest scoring team in the league will meet the lowest, as the surprising Brooklyn Nets make a short trek over to Madison Square Garden to take on the winless New York Knicks on Friday night. The Nets won a total of 41 games over the past two seasons and lost their season opener, but have since reeled off three wins in four games including a 112-107 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. The Knicks has lost their first three games and two of them were ugly. Star forward Kristaps Porzingis was 3-for-14 from the floor and New York produced just 33 first-half points in a 110-89 loss at Boston on Tuesday. The Nets, who split four meetings with New York last season, lead the league in scoring (121.2 points per game), while the Knicks are dead last (93.3).

Spencer Dinwiddie scored 22 points and recorded six assists while providing a boost to a backcourt that has already lost Jeremy Lin (knee) for the season and was without D’Angelo Russell (knee) on Wednesday. Russell, who is averaging a team-high 23 points, is not expected to play on Friday. Forward DeMarre Carroll has scored at least 17 points in four straight games and is shooting 40.7% percent from 3-point range.

Center Enes Kanter has been one of the few bright spots early on and recorded his second straight double-double (16 points, 19 rebounds) in the loss to Boston on Tuesday. Tim Hardaway Jr. shot 2-for-11 and rookie Frank Ntilikina missed his second straight game with an ankle injury that has him questionable for Friday night. Center Willy Hernangomez has made 7-of-9 shots this season. New York plays six of their next seven at the Garden, but the lone road game is Sunday in Cleveland.

MORE NBA PICKS

The Knicks are a mess right now and with Russell out again, will be hard-pressed to find any scoring. The Nets will ride the momentum of their victory over Cleveland to a win here tonight.
