After watching a lot of offense in these first few Bowl games, we could finally see some defense in today’s Meineke Car Care Bowl between North Carolina and Pittsburgh. The Tar Heels are only allowing 16.9 points a game while the Panthers are allowing only 20 a game. North Carolina is not an offensive powerhouse either. Quarterback T.J. Yates has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this year (12/14) while the Heels leading rusher Ryan Houston only averages about 50 yards a game. Pitt is led by QB Bill Stull who had a very nice year throwing 21 touchdowns to only 8 intecptions. Running back Dion Lewis ran for 16 touchdowns on 1,635 yards. It might take a quarter for either offense to get things going, but once they do, I think Pitt will control the game.
