Dodgers vs Brewers NLCS Preview & Free Pick | Prediction [Game 6]

LA Dodgers (3-2) at Milwaukee (2-3)
When: Friday, October 19th 2018
Where: Miller Park,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Time: 8:35 ET | TV: FS1
Opening Odds: Los Angeles -120/8

The Milwaukee Brewers are trying to prevent the Los Angeles Dodgers from celebrating a National League Championship on their home field and must win the next two games to avoid that. With the Brewers trailing 3-1 in their best-of-seven NLCS, Game 6 and possibly 7 will be at Miller Park on Friday night as lefty Wade Miley starts for the second straight game against L.A.’s Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Dodgers have been using some solid pitching to come back from a two games to one deficit and get within one victory of their second straight World Series appearance. Ace Clayton Kershaw shut down the Brewers in Game 5 with eight solid innings and reliever Pedro Baez has thrown 6.2 scoreless innings and allowed a total of two hits with 10 strikeouts in six postseason appearances. Milwaukee’s big bats have gone cold including probably NL MVP Christian Yelich, who is 3-for-20 without an extra-base hit in the series. Los Angeles has limited the Brewers to a total of three runs in 22 innings in the last two wins. Milwaukee managed to get through Game 5 without using relievers Josh Hader, Corey Knebel or Jeremy Jeffress, and all three should be ready to go Friday.

Pitchers: Dodgers – Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-0, 1.59 ERA) | Brewers – Wade Miley (0-0, 0.00)

Ryu was terrific in his lone start against Atlanta in the NLDS, throwing seven scoreless innings to earn a win but struggled in Game 2 of this series at Milwaukee. Ryu allowed two runs on six hits over 4.1 innings before being lifted. He did not allow more than two runs in any of his last five starts going back to the regular season and has yet to allow more than three earned runs on the season.

Miley was basically a decoy in Game 5, starting the game but pitching to just one batter – a walk to Cody Bellinger – before being replaced by right-hander Brandon Woodruff in a move designed to give Milwaukee a matchup advantage. Miley dominated Los Angeles and Ryu in Game 2, scattering two hits over 5.2 innings without factoring in the decision. With a rested bullpen, expect Miley to be on a short leash again.

The Dodgers have the Brewers right where they want and if Milwaukee’s bats don’t start hitting, it’s over. They got to Ryu in Game 2, but I think the South Korean comes back strong and pitches like he’s been all season and leads the Dodgers back to the World Series.

Pick: Dodgers -115
