The Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors are in familiar territory as they get set for Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Friday night at Air Canada Centre. Cleveland won the first two games at home rather easily, just like last year’s conference finals, but Toronto made it a series back home before succumbing in six games. LeBron James scored 39 points on 10-of-14 shooting and past Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the career playoff scoring list as the Cavaliers rolled 125-103 in Game 2. James’ teams have a streak on the line as they head north of the border – he has won a road game in 27 consecutive postseason series. Point guard Kyrie Irving set a personal playoff high for assists (11 in Game 2) for the second straight game and is averaging 23 points and 10.5 assists in the series. Forward Channing Frye had his best outing this postseason by making five 3-pointers and scoring 18 points in Game 2 off the bench – part of Cleveland’s 18 made on Wednesday. Iman Shumpert was also effective off the bench, scoring 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting in 27 minutes of action.

All-Star guard Kyle Lowry scored 20 points in Game 2, but injured his left ankle with 11:33 left in the third quarter and was out of the game for good by the fourth. Lowry is listed as questionable for Friday’s contest which means fellow guard DeMar DeRozan might need to step up his game – something he failed to do on Wednesday. The Raptors’ leading scorer this season, was limited to just five points on 2-of-11 shooting. “It sucks. To lose like we did. To play like I did. It sucks,” DeRozan said. “It’s frustrating. Now I just have the added time having to wait till Friday night to redeem myself.” Center Jonas Valanciunas scored 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting in Game 2 after scoring in single digits in each of the previous three games. Another option for Toronto if Lowry is hobbled, would be backup point guard Corey Joseph, who scored 22 points off the bench in Game 2 and played a postseason-high 25 minutes.

Regardless of what happened last year when the series shifted to Toronto, this Cleveland team is too much for Toronto. A 100% healthy Lowry or not, the Cavaliers will pull away in the second half and beat the Raptors.

Pick: Cavaliers -2.5
