The up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers squad will look to stay hot when they host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night at Wells Fargo Center. The 76ers continue to keep their stars limited in minutes, but are winners of three straight and five of their last six after blowing out the Orlando Magic 130-111 on Saturday. Philadelphia held rookie sensation Ben Simmons out of that game due to elbow soreness and hope to have the star guard back on Monday. Cleveland is not limiting James’ minutes, in fact, they are relying on him more than ever and, of course, he’s delivering. Cleveland needed 27 points, 16 rebounds and 13 assists from James to win their seventh-straight, a 100-99 win over Charlotte on Friday. James also added three blocks and the defense held the Hornets to 38.3% shooting. James logged 40 minutes in the win to mark the eighth time in 19 games that he reached the 40-minute mark, and he is averaging 37.7 minutes while shooting 58% from the field. Cleveland has won nine in a row in the series and won all three meetings last season by an average of 7.3 points.

Cleveland keeps winning despite not having veteran point guard Derrick Rose, who is third on the team in scoring (14.3) but missed the last eight games with an ankle injury and is reportedly away from the team while contemplating his future. “We want, whatever he decides to do, we want the best for him,” James told reporters of Rose. Veteran Jose Calderon is filling in as the starting point guard of late, but James is still running the offense most of the time. James is starting to get some help from power forward Kevin Love, who has recorded a double-double in each of the last three games and five of the last seven.

The Sixers have covered the spread in 10 of the last 11 home meetings with Cleveland.

With all the talk and hype surrounding Simmons and Joel Embiid, the 76ers are getting contributions from numerous players and on Saturday, it was J.J. Redick’s turn. The former Duke sharp-shooter is on a one year contract to provide a veteran presence in the locker room, and he went off for 29 points in Saturday’s win over the Magic. Redick nailed six of his eight 3-pointers in the first half and finished 10-of-18 from the floor while eclipsing 20 points for the third time in the last four games. Point guard T.J. McConnell started in place of Simmons on Saturday and recorded season highs of 15 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds.

TEXANS VS RAVENS PREVIEW AND PREDICTION

This Sixers team is young, but a very confident squad. They are not intimidated by anyone and the Wells Fargo Center is turning into one of the toughest places for visiting teams. It’s strange seeing Philadelphia favored over Cleveland, but in this case, they should be.
