The Breeders’ Cup pre-entries for 2009 were taken this week and it looks like an excellent mix of favorites and intriguing longshots! 166 horses, including 10 defending or former Breeders’ Cup Champions, have been pre-entered for the 2009 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Some great wagering opportunities are sure to reveal themselves by the time the official entries are drawn later this week. The 26th Breeders’ Cup World Championships, Thoroughbred racing’s richest and most prestigious global event, consisting of 14 races and purses totaling $25.5 million, will be held at Santa Anita Park on Friday, Nov., 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 during the Oak Tree Racing Association meeting.
