The Chicago Blackhawks look to continue their recent road dominance when they visit the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night in Saint Paul. Chicago will be playing their eighth road contest in nine games and already own a 6-1 record in those games. After returning from their league mandated bye week, the Blackhawks looked rusty in a 3-1 home loss to Edmonton on Saturday, but rebounded with a 5-1 thumping at Buffalo the next day. Patrick Kane and captain Jonathan Toews are starting to stuff the scoresheet, with Kane scoring and setting up a goal in Sunday’s win at Buffalo to give him 11 points (five goals, six assists) in seven February games. Toews’ goal versus the Sabres upped his point total to 15 in his last 11 games, and he also recorded a pair of assists before scoring the overtime goal in the Blackhawks’ 4-3 win over Minnesota on February 8th. Veteran Marian Hossa (team co-leading 21 goals) scored against the Sabres to increase his point total to five (three goals, two assists) in his last seven games. Artemi Panarin, who is in his second season with the Blackhawks, has two goals and seven assists in his past seven games. Head coach Joel Quenneville (399-199-79) looks for his 400th coaching win with the Blackhawks. Chicago will return home to play their next four games at United Center.

The Wild will look to extend their seven point lead over second place Chicago before they head into their bye week. The Wild have posted a 15-4-1 record in their last 20 games overall to increase their lead over Chicago in the Central Division, and enter Tuesday with an 8-0-1 record in their last nine regular-season meetings with the Blackhawks. Veteran forward Jason Pominville scored to break a tie in the third period of Minnesota’s 3-2 win over Chicago on January 15th, sparking a run of 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in his past 17 games. Captain Mikko Koivu scored one and assisted on another versus the Predators on Saturday for his third multi-point effort in his last four games. Jason Zucker scored two goals and set up another against Nashville and Mikael Granlund had one of each to increase his team-leading point total to 53 – with five (two goals, three assists) coming in the last five games. Goalie Devan Dubnyk owns a 4-1-0 record with a 1.78 goals-against average and .945 save percentage in his last five starts. Minnesota will be playing in the seventh game of its season-high eight-game homestand.

Right now, Minnesota has Chicago’s number and are playing at a real high level. They should be the front-runners to win the Western Conference and will want to go into their bye week with a victory over the Blackhawks. I think they get it done tonight.

Pick: Wild -130
