SEC InfoSheet: Week 6
by Larry Cook of InfoPlays.com

This is a big weekend for SEC action as we haveAuburn traveling to Tennessee and LSU heading into Athens to takeon Georgia. We knew there would be a lot of public action goingon these two season-deciding games and that always opens the doorfor the linesmakers to adjust the lines slightly in order to evenout the action, thus we can be on the right side of these highprofile games and make a little bit of cash. Here is just a smallportion of the information that we went through in order to findour clients winners on these two key games in the SEC this weekend.

Game 1 LSU at Georgia (3:30 EST on CBS)

Quick notes – LSU has won the last two meetings, including last year”s SEC Championship game inside the GeorgiaDome in dominating fashion, 34-13. LSU is 0-1 on the road thisyear after their narrow 1 point defeat at the hands of the AuburnTigers, while Georgia has rolled to 17 straight wins at SanfordStadium. Georgia had last week off and that fact may play heavilyin the minds of average bettors, but remember that LSU playedMississippi State last week to the tune of a 51-0 trouncing, allowingthem to rest most of their starters in the 2nd half.

LSU – The team has a dominating ground game thatwill test Georgia”s defense on Saturday. Last week against anundermanned Bulldog team, the Tigers gained 272 yards on the groundon only 58 carries. Broussard finished the game with 3 scoresand 73 yards to lead the way for LSU. JaMarcus Russell providedthe team with a little bit of balance as he was efficient on 9-of-12passing for 137 yards. Marcus Randall spelled Russell to the tuneof 7-for-7 and 109 yards. For all the talk of this team”s defensethey have scored 33.8 ppg and gained more than 417 ypg in totaloffense. Their defense has lived up to the hype too of courseas they currently rank 5th in the nation with 236 ypg againstand are coming off a 4 INT performance against Mississippi State.Their defense is now yielding just 8.3 ppg after last week”sshutout win.

Georgia – Georiga is also a team that is led bytheir defense as they are allowing only 15.7 ppg and 260.3 ypgthis season. There doesn”t seem to be a weakness on this unitas opposing rushers are averaging 3.5 ypc and opposing QBs arecompleting less than 50% of their passes. Even when the offensestruggles, this team will also have a chance to stay in the gamesolely because this unit isn”t going to surrender very many points. The offense is led by David Greene, who has continued to win overhis tenure as a Bulldog. He is having a down year statistically, but I wonder if Georgia has been just going through the motionsa little bit, gearing up for SEC play.

It”s tough to beat Georgia on their home field, but LSU has looked like the better team so far this season. Wethink we have all the angles covered on this one and have a 7*play on the premium side, for our free total on this game we”llgo with the UNDER 37.5 as the total falls closer to 27.

Game 2 Auburn at Tennessee (7:45 EST on ESPN)

Quick Notes – Tennessee has taken control of thisseries lately, winning 4 out of the last 5 meetings between thetwo schools, but Auburn did upend the Vols last year at home bya TD. Both of these teams faced cupcakes the previous week anddidn”t have to exert much effort to pull out the victories. Bothof these teams come into this game undefeated after beating theirfirst SEC opponents in exciting fashions, Auburn by 1 over LSUand Tennessee with a late FG over Florida.

Auburn – Jason Campbell plays a big role in thisgame as his play forces the Vols to not stack the line againstthis powerful Tiger rushing attack. If he can have a performancesimiliar to last week”s 11-of-14 194 yard performance withouta turnover, his team will be in it until the end. Cadillac Williamsreminds me of an Eddie George type of runner, just seems to grindout yards without ever really breaking through. He had 95 yardson 22 carries last week and has been steady all season long. Hedid have a pair of fumbles last week and a repeat of that performancewould put a kiss of death on this squad. Ronnie Brown should returnfor this game after missing last week with a sore hamstring. Thisteam”s rushing attack fits perfectly with their grueling defensethat is allowing less than 6.5 ppg so far this season. The teamis balanced against both the run and the pass, and they will needto be because the Vols have enough offense to exploit a defensevia the air or the ground.

Tennessee – Cedric Houston leads the ground game, while a tandem of freshmen lead the way through the air. Houstonhas averaged 103.3 yards per game, but a staggering 8.4 ypc. ErikAinge may not be the team”s starter, but he”s their no. 1 guyas he gave the team a boost with 3 TDs on 200 yards passing lastweek. His partner Brent Schaeffer added a score of his own. Evenwith a two QB system, the team is averaging 38 ppg and 503 ypgof total offense and this should be an exciting clash againstAuburn”s tough defense. The Tennessee defense is better at stoppingthe run than the pass, as they are averaging only 3.6 ypc againstand yet offering up 20.7 ppg to opposing offenses. LA Tech jumpedout early on this squad and looked like they had a potential upsetbrewing, before Tennessee simplified their defense in the 2ndhalf and shut the team down.

This is another great game that goes late Saturdayon ESPN. It should be a great contest and we do have the 7* sidethat may be upgraded to a 10* pending some key information wehave on the game. For those of you that want a free total, wedo like the game to go OVER 44.5 points, but this play isn”tas strong as the UNDER in the LSU game.

This weekend shows why football is the best sportas we have two great games on national TV that we are having agreat time looking into and we will have an even better time watchingthem cash in the spotlight. A lot of work goes into handicappingthe extensive list of games this Saturday, we hope that our quickgame notes on these two HUGE SEC games will help you find yourwinners.
