The first place Houston Astros continue their tough 7-game road trip with another game in Baltimore against the Orioles. Ace Dallas Keuchel went the distance yesterday, but eventually picked up his first loss of the season. Houston is up by 6 games in the American League West thanks in most part to their bullpen and the long ball. Their batting average (.233) is one of the worst in Baseball, but they’re number 1 with 65 home runs and it’s not just 1 or 2 guys, their whole lineup has been hitting them.

Veteran Scott Feldman will be making his 10th start on the season. He has been one of their worst starters so far. He is 3-4 with a 5.17 ERA and has allowed 7 home runs. The last time Feldman faced the Orioles (last June), he was pounded for 9 runs in 5 innings. Current Orioles hitters are batting .290 against Feldman.

The Orioles are just playing average ball this year as evident of their 20-22 record. Offensively it’s been their big 4 guys of Jimmy Paredes, Manny Machado, Adam Jones, and Chris Davis. Those four have combined for over half of the Orioles offense this year. They still sit only a couple of games out of first in the very competitive American League East.

Tonight’s starter is Chris Tillman and he will be making his 9th start of the year. If things keep going they way they are for him, this might be one of his last starts for a while. He has been horrendous. He’s 2-5 with a 6.10 ERA and his K/BB ratio is 29/22. That will not win many ball games. Last year in 34 starts he was 13-6 and a 3.34 ERA. The Orioles really need him to work things out and start throwing strikes again.

It’s really hard to bet on either one of these pitchers right now, so I’m going to take the safe bet and take the over. This could be a slugfest.

Pick: OVER 9 -105
