The D-Backs aregetting great pitching from Brandon Webb and Doug Davis,who contributed 17 strike outs out of a total 27. Theirbullpen has been able to get it done in the late closinginnings with relievers Brandon Lyon, Tony Pena and JoseValverde. Valverde has been untouchable in six innings.

The Colorado Rockies swept the Philadelphia Phillies tomake their first National League Championship appearance.The Rockies bring in an offense that can get it done anywaypossible. Kazuo Matsui, Yorvit Torrealba, Seth Smith andJeff Baker have been key to the Rockies since their 15-16run into the post season. Colorado also has some talentedpitchers in Jeff Francis, Ubaldo Jimenez along with relieversJosh Fogg, Brian Fuentes and Manny Corpus, who contributed26 strikeouts against the Phillies. The Rockies have ateam with mostly younger players with no playoff experienceexcept for veteran Mark Redman, who won the World Serieswith the Florida Marlins. The veterans realize they needthe younger talent to win and the younger players arelearning from the veterans. The Rockies outscored Arizona86-72 during the regular season and won 10-18 meetings.
