The New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians close out their four-gameseries with a battle of left-handers Thursday night at JacobsField.
Cleveland won the first two games of this series, 5-2 on Monday and 19-1 on Tuesday. But New York bounced back to win 11-3 Wednesday.
The Yankees, 5-5 over their last 10 games, still sit in second place in the AL East, three games back of the division-leading Boston Red Sox.
The Tribe, 6-4 over their last 10 games, is stuck in fourth place in the AL Central, a distant 17 games behind the division-leading Detroit Tigers.
These two teams have split six games thus far this season. The Yanks won the season series between these two teams last year four games to three.
New York is 21-18 on the road this season, while Cleveland is 22-20 at home.
Yanks’ lefty Randy Johnson (9-7, 5.25) has had his ups and downs this season. Johnson has allowed 11 ER and 22 H+W in his last 20 IP. New York is 10-8 in Johnson’s starts this year, the over/under 11-7.

The Ultimatecapper Pick: This is a tough game. Randy Johnson was very ineffective for the first part of the season and now he's starting to show signs of life. The same could be said for Cliff Lee. We're passing on this one! Too tough to call. (OK, if you put a gun to our heads we'd be on the Indians)
