The Minnesota Twins got to Chris Sale early last night and held off the Chicago White Sox for a much needed 8-6 win. Glen Perkins again got a shaky save, his 32nd, to keep the Twins within striking distance of the American League Wild Card. It was Minnesota’s 9th win in their last 11 games. In that stretch the bullpen has stepped up big time with an ERA under 1.90. On offense they seem to come up with the big home run like Miguel Sano’s blast last night off Nate Jones last night. They don’t have a single regular hitting over .300, but Brian Dozier, Trevor Plouffe, Torii Hunter, and Miguel Sano have a combined 76 home runs. Tommy Milone will make his 18th start tonight. He is 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA overall and 4.08 ERA at home. He is 2-0 against the White Sox this year.

The White Sox are slowly dropping out of contention in the A.L. Wild Card race. They have lost 6 of their last 9 overall and have fallen to 61-69 on the year. Their offense has been hot lately as they have scored exactly 6 runs in each of their last 3 games. Lefty Carlos Rodon starts tonight for Chicago and he comes in with a 4.15 ERA, but averages over 9 strike outs per 9 innings. His 61 walks in 112 innings have hurt him this year. He has not started against Minnesota this year, but did pitch 3 scoreless innings of relief against them on May 2nd.

This is a small line to play for a team as hot as Minnesota. I think they hit Rodon early and often and Milone does just enough to get the win.

Pick: Twins -125
