MIAMI DOLPHINS (-1.5) over Kansas City Chiefs
The (2-3) Miami Dolphins face the (3-2) KansasCity Chiefs this week and are eager to play their first home gamein 3 weeks which started with a bye week followed up by back toback road losses to both Buffalo and Tampa Bay. Miami played asolid 3 quarters against (5-1) Tampa Bay last week only down by4 points that is until the train wreck occurred in the 3rd quarterwith the Bucs scoring 17 straight unanswered points. Miami QBGus Frerotte was sacked twice and fumbled twice as the TB defensewas too much to handle for the young Miami offense. Miami is 2-0at home and those 2 wins were against solid teams with a combined9-3 record. Miami manhandled the (5-1) Denver Broncos in week1 at home and then defeated the (4-2) Carolina Panthers 2 weekslater. Miami RB Ricky Williams was a bit rusty last week in hisfirst week back in over a year rushing for 8 yards on 5 carriesbut look for him to hit the holes hard this week against a notso dominant KC defensive line. Williams , however, did lead theteam last week in receptions with six catches for 22 yards.
Kansas City , on the other hand, is coming offa very hard fought battle against the Redskins pulling out thelate win bv the score of 28-21 over Joe Gibbs and company. AlthoughKansas City seems to have upgraded their Defense, they are nomore than an average team when playing on the road. The Chiefsare 1-1 on the road this year losing big to Denver, who as previouslymentioned, were spanked by the fish at home. Miami will run theball hard up the middle and refrain from too many passing attemptswhich seems to be KC’s strength this season, their secondary.
Look for Miami to bounce back in a big way athome this Sunday coming off of a 27-13 Bucaneer Beating to beatthe Chiefs by at least a touchdown. In my opinion, Miami’s Defenseshould shut down KC’s arial assault keeping them grounded andallowing no more than 14 points offensively. Kansas City may beoverconfident after defeating the Redskins LW who pose one ofthe NFL’s best overall defenses and I see this spot as a letdownsituation for the Chiefs. KC also has division rivals San Diegoon deck the following week and may be looking ahead.
