Buffalo Bills @ New Orleans Saints
Sun, 1pm, CBS

Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs
Sun, 1pm, CBS

Dallas Cowboys @ Detroit Lions
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Lions by 3.5
I wrote last week about how I expected a shootout between Philly and Dallas, and I didn’t get it. I expect the same thing there, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the combined points somewhere in the 20’s again this week. I’m also taking a cover to hedge my bet with the home team.
Pick: Detroit 27, Dallas 24

Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
Sun, 1pm, CBS

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: Eagles by 5.5
I really want to take the Giants outright here, but I just can’t bring myself to trust a 1-6 team on the road, especially when the NY offense turns the ball over as much as they do. Both teams are very sloppy right now, though, so I would just avoid watching this game entirely if you can.
Pick: Philadelphia 24, New York 20

San Francisco 49’ers @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Sun, 1pm, FOX
Line: 49’ers by 16.5
At this point in the train wreck that is the season of the Jacksonville, I’m just going to keep taking the favorite to cover. I have full confidence that with 11 games left in the season, I’ll get at least nine correct by using that method.
Pick: San Francisco 34, Jacksonville 10

New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals
Sun, 4:05pm, CBS
Line: Bengals by 6.5
I think the Jets have a good chance here, but as I wrote last week when I said they’d beat New England, this is what they do – give the fans hope and then dahs it in dramatic fashion. Bengals kick a late field goal to win this one.
Pick: Cincinnati 24, New York 23

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Oakland Raiders
Sun, 4:05pm, CBS
Line: Steelers by 2.5
One more win and I’ll believe in the Steelers, but I honestly don’t think they get it here. Oakland’s defense is underrated and their offense is improving now that they’ve settled on Terrelle Pryor, and I think the Raiders get their third win of the season in this one.
Pick: Oakland 21, Pittsburgh 17

Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals
Sun, 4:25pm, FOX
Line: Cardinals by 2.5
This basically boils down to the season for both teams in a rugged NFC. The Falcons are already three games back of the Saints in the division, with an improving Carolina team between them, while Arizona will have a tough time catching either Seattle or San Fran in the West. The wild card competition is stiff, too, between the West runner-up and whichever two of the Detroit/Chicago/Green Bay trio that fails to win the North, so both of these teams desperately need the win here. I think Atlanta knows how much they’ve fallen short of preseason expectations, so I expect a big game (and a win) from them in the desert.
Pick: Atlanta 33, Arizona 24

Washington Redskins @ Denver Broncos
Sun, 4:25pm, FOX

Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings
Sun, 8:30pm, NBC
Line: Packers by 9.5
I never thought I’d see a divisional game between these two where the road team was almost a 10-point favorite, but here we are – Packers by 9.5. And after hearing how poorly Josh Freeman played on Monday (I’d say “watched” but that’d be a lie) I think I’ll take the cover.
Pick: Green Bay 34, Minnesota 20

Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
Mon, 8:30pm, ESPN

Straight-Up: 67-41
Against Spread: 52-54-2
