Opening Line: Twins -110
The Minnesota Twins try for the 3-game sweep of the heavy hitting Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas. Twins pitching has held the Rangers to only 4 runs in the first two games, beating them 5-3 and 4-1. Francisco Liriano takes the hill for the Twins looking to build on his recent success. He’s 4-9, 5.47 for the year, but has a 3.72 ERA in his last 3 starts. He’ll be opposed by rookie Derek Holland, who has been getting shelled at home. His ERA for the year is 5.97, but its 8.38 at home. Liriano is getting the Rangers at the right time. He shut down the Rangers back in 2006 when he was the up and coming pitcher everyone had hoped he would be. Its too early to tell with his recent success if he’s starting to turn it around. The Twins have won 14 of the last 20 meetings with the Rangers and I look for them to pull off the sweep tonight.
