1. Kansas – The jayhawks will have the best team in the country from top to bottom with high expectations.
2. North Carolina – Roy Williams gets another shot at a title with this group assuming everyone returns.
3. Wisconsin – The Badgers will be strong at every position as long as super wing Devin Harris returns.
4. Duke – Shaun Livingston replaces Chris Duhon on a team that should be improved in the paint.
5. Uconn – Georgia Tech transfer Ed Nelson will pick up where Okafor left off while a host of newcomers will keep this team on top.
6. Louisville – Rick Pitino will have his most talented team at Lousiville. This team becomes the top team in the country if Super Frosh Sebastian Telfair comes to school.
7. Wake Forest – All five starters return on a team that will be tournament tested.
8. Georgia Tech – A strong nucleus of great players now become the hunted and must avoid being a one hit wonder like Marquette.
9. Notre Dame – Chris Thomas and Arizona Transfer Dennis Latimore will form the best inside out combination in the Big East.
10. Illinois – Dee Brown and Deron Williams will dominate opponents on the perimeter with their speed and athletic ability.
11. Arizona – Lute Olson must find a way to make his team play hard all the time. The wildcats will be much improved on the inside with the return of Isiah Fox.
12. Alabama – The top team in the SEC proved they could play with big boys and should be even better next season.
13. Maryland – Gary Williams knows how to win and will have a talented team primed for a run to the top.
14. Syracuse – Last years freshman group must step up to help this team get back to the final four.
15. Michigan State – Tom Izzo’s team underachieved all season long and should be ready to take the next step with a more balanced team.
16. Kentucky – This team has the potential to be better later in the season as the freshman develop and take over a new wildcat era.
17. Texas – Brian Boddicker is the biggest loss on a team that will have a great chance to be just as good with super frosh Daniel Gipson taking over the backcourt spot.
18. Oklahoma State – Tony Allen a very big loss but look for Joey Graham to pick up his slack.
19. Stanford – Josh Childress must come back for this team to remain a contender.
20. Michigan – The wolverines proved they are a team to be reckoned with by winning the NIT.
21. Washington – The young huskies are rising fast and could be the top team in the PAC 10 next season.
22. Oklahoma – The sooners had a very rough year but should bounce back with great young talent.
23. N.C. State – Julius Hodge is a nightmare matchup for opponents and will have one more chance at the final four.
24. Memphis – The Tigers will be a sleeper team next season with a influx of young talent coming to the Pyramid.
25. Florida – The Gators have to play as a team and teach Anthony Roberson how to pass if they want to be successful.
