Southeastern Conference gridiron action takes center stage this weekend with three big games featuring some national title contenders.

Arkansas Razorbacks (3-1, 2-0 in SEC) +15, o/u 41 at Auburn Tigers (5-0, 3-0), noon Eastern Saturday, CBS - Auburn looks to keep its record perfect when they host Arkansas at Jordan-Hare Stadium in an SEC West battle. The Tigers beat South Carolina 24-17 last Thursday in Columbia but couldn’t cover the spread as 13-point favorites. RB Kenny Irons came back after missing some action with a bad ankle and ran for 117 yards and two TDs. The Razorbacks had last week off after beating Alabama 24-23 in double-OT, but also couldn’t provide winning tickets for their financial backers as 2 ˝-point home chalk. In fact, while Arkansas is 3-1 straight up this season, they’re 0-4 against the spread. Auburn is outrushing its opponents this season by a 173-88 per game margin, while Arkansas holds a 188/171 average rushing advantage. Last year, the Tigers beat the ‘Backs 34-17, outrushing Arkansas 233-148. The Razorbacks led that game 10-6 at the half, but Auburn came alive and outscored Arkansas 28-7 in the second half.

LSU Tigers (4-1, 1-1 SEC) +1 ˝, o/u 40 at Florida Gators (5-0, 3-0), 3:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday, CBS – Florida also seeks to keep its record unblemished with a showdown with LSU Saturday at The Swamp. The Tigers rank 1st in Division 1 in total defense (193 yards per game) and have allowed just four TDs in five games. The Gators defense ain’t bad, either, allowing just 9.4 points PG and 50 yards rushing PG. LSU is averaging 38 points and 412 total yards of offense PG, and is outrushing foes by a 145-69 margin. Meanwhile, Florida is scoring 30 points, gaining 438 yards PG, and outrushing opponents 167/50, on average. Tigers’ QB JaMarcus Russell has completed 70% of his passes this season and owns a 10/1 TD/INT ratio, while Gator QB Chris Leak has hit on 65% of his passes and owns a 14/4 TD/INT ratio. LSU handed Florida its last home loss, 24-21 two seasons ago, and beat the Gators last season 21-17, holding Florida to 206 total yards. Florida RB DeShawn Wynn (354 RY this season) is listed as questionable for Saturday with a bad knee. The O/U is 4-1 in Tigers games this year, but 1-4 in Gators games.
Tennessee Volunteers (4-1, 0-1 SEC) –2 ˝, o/u 38 at Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0), 7:45 p.m. Eastern Saturday, ESPN – Georgia, ranked #1 in the nation in scoring defense (6.8 points PG), is yet another SEC power looking to stay in the conference championship game and national championship hunt. But the Bulldogs had to come from behind to escape Colorado’s upset bid two weeks ago, then won at Ole Miss 14-9 in a game they were favored by 17 points in last week. The Buffaloes outrushed UGA 173-54, and the Rebels outgrounded the ‘Dogs 156-133. But Georgia is expected to get QB Joe Tereshinski back this week after missing action with a bad ankle. Tennessee pounded Cal to open its season, but fell 21-20 at home to Florida three weeks ago. Since then, the Volunteers have beaten Marshall and Memphis by a collective 74-14. UT is averaging 32 points per game this season, having scored 20 touchdowns in its first five games, and QB Erik Ainge has completed 70% of his passes and owns a 12/5 TD/INT ratio. The Bulldogs beat the Vols last season 27-14 in Knoxville, outrushing Tennessee 198-48. The Volunteers are 4-1 ATS this season, while the O/U is 0-4 in Georgia games.
