The Green Bay Packers will look for their third-straight victory when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon at frigid Lambeau Field. Green Bay’s season appeared lost with a four-game losing streak in which they allowed 153 points, but they have bounced back with two straight wins over Philadelphia and Houston – holding each to 13 points. The Packers are two games back of North leading Detroit, but only one game behind the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. The 24th-ranked rushing attack will feature a familiar face in Christine Michael, who was claimed off waivers by the Packers after he was cut loose by the Seahawks earlier this season. Aaron Rodgers has raised his level of play by throwing for seven touchdowns and zero interceptions over the past three games while recording a passer rating of at least 108.9 in all three. Top wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who missed the 2015 season with a torn ACL, caught his 10th touchdown reception in last week’s win over Houston and has 42 receptions and five TDs in his last six games. Green Bay has one of the league’s top run defenses at 92.9 yards per game, but it is vulnerable through the air (254.3) and are allowing 25.2 points per contest. The Packers will finish the season with matchups against each of their North Division foes.

Seattle will look to get over the loss of safety Earl Thomas, who broke his leg in last week’s 40-7 thrashing of the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks are still allowing an NFL best 16.2 points per game and are ranked eighth in overall defense. Seattle has failed to score a touchdown in three of its road losses this season, including a 14-5 defeat at Tampa Bay in Week 12. Running back Thomas Rawls, in his third game back since missing two months with a broken leg, ignited the running game by rushing for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries against the Panthers. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett scrambled for a 75-yard scoring run last week while adding five catches on 63 yards. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is not worried about the possibility of nasty weather conditions at Lambeau, saying, “I’m hoping it’s kind of a downpour of snow. That would be great.” Wilson has six touchdowns and one interception in three career matchups versus the Packers. Seattle can clinch the NFC West with a win on Sunday coupled with an Arizona loss in Miami.

Green Bay is starting to put things together both offensivley and defensively and Rodgers is 12-2 against the spread in the Packers last 14 December home games. Seattle has lost their last two games as a road favorite. Green Bay needs this win badly and I think they get it here. The loss of Thomas will hurt Seattle today.
