The Cincinnati Reds look to continue their recent good play on the road when they visit the New York Mets for a four-game series starting Monday night at Shea Stadium.
Cincinnati just got swept three games at home by the White Sox over the weekend, getting outscored 28-11. The Reds have lost eight of their last nine games, all of which were played at home, but they’ve won their last seven games on the road. Overall, Cincy is 20-13 in away games this year.
After winning eight games in a row, New York just dropped two of three games at home to Baltimore over the weekend. The Mets are 20-13 at home this season.
Cincinnati is in second place in the NL Central, 5 ½ games back of division-leading St. Louis.
New York, which owns the best record in the National League, has extended its lead in the NL East to 9 ½ games over second-place Philadelphia.
