In parlays the payoff is determined by the number of teams picked and can be changed if any team in the parlay has a money line; there is no buying points.

If you would like to risk less to win more, then parlays are the bet for you. A parlay is just a collection of straight bets.

The trick is that all of the straight bets must win for you to win your bet, however the pay out is much better.

The number of teams that you put in your parlay decides how much you can win.

In Football or Basketball the payouts are set, but if you add in money lines then the payouts vary.

Lets say that you bet $100 on the Jets to win;(remember the juice on a straight bet is 10%) you risk $110 to win $100. Then you bet another $100 on the Cowboys; again you risk $110 to win $100. Ok you have $220 dollars to win $200, if you had bet that same $200 in a 2 team parlay you could win $520 dollars!

How to wager a parlay:Making a bet at a sportsbook is an easy process and ticket writers are more than willing to assist you. For the convenience of both the house and player, the best way to make a wager is to use the numbers assigned to each team by the official Nevada Sports Schedule. For the purposes of this discussion and for a point of reference, let's assume you wish to place a bet on the following games, appearing on the tote board as followed;

3 Washington4 Dallas -3

5 Carolina -26 New Orleans

7 San Francisco8 St. Louis -8

Here's How:The team's assigned number is the number to the left of each team. In our above example, Washington is #3 and Dallas is #4, etc.

The games will be referred to as game "3/4" with Washington being team #3 and Dallas being team #4, "5/6" with Carolina being number #5 and New Orleans being #6 and "7/8" with San Fran being #7 and St. Louis being #8.

The number to the right of the team is the odds/pointspread for that team, with the number always being listed beside the favorite. In our above example, Dallas is a -3 point favorite over Washington, Carolina is a -2 point favorite over New Orleans and St. Louis is an -8 point favorite over San Fran.

The home team is always listed on the bottom unless a neutral site is noted. In our above example, Dallas, New Orleans and St. Louis are the home teams.

If a player decides that he likes all the home teams to win against the numbers, he would go to the window and declare "I would like $10 to win $60 on team #2, #4 & #6, Cowboys, Saints and Rams on a 3 team parlay".

If a player decides that he likes all the favorites to cover the numbers, he would go to the window and declare "I would like $10 to win $60 on team #2, #3 & #6, Cowboys, Panthers and Rams on a 3 team parlay".

If all 3 selections win in a 3 team parlay, a winning player would collect $60.00 for every $10.00 wagered.

If any of the selections fall short, the entire parlay is a loser - even if 9 of 10 win.

If a selected game goes "off the board" or for any reason recieves a "no action" status by the book, then the parlay is downgraded from a 3 team to 2 team etc.

Should one of the selected games end up in a "push", you may have a winner or loser, rules vary here house to house - try to avoid "ties lose" parlays.

Any combination can be made up using 2 teams or more to create a parlay with the idea being that all teams selected must win for the player to cash his ticket.

Odds for parlay's (with slight variances) are as followed;

a.) 2 game -2.5 to 1

b.) 3 game - 6 to 1

c.) 4 game - 10 to 1

d.) 5 game - 20 to 1

e.) 6 game - 40 to 1
