| Pacquiao/Morales Fight Recap
In a fight that we thought would go the distance,Filipino Manny Pacquiao knocked out Erik Morales in the 10th roundof the fight.
There was no title at stake, however, Pacquiaocame with everything he had to avenge a loss to Morales last Marchand that was plenty for him. His motivation to take out Moraleswas stellar and a fight that one would have cherished to havebeen there in person to watch the beating he threw down on Morales. He simply dominated in the late rounds and had he not knockedout Morales he would have been the clear cut winner, the knockoutjust made it all that much sweeter.
The official knockout time came at 2:33 in the10th round. This ensued after Morales had been knocked down earlierin the tenth and had a hard time getting up off the canvas. Mannysensed the weakness and attacked with an all out melee of punchescausing a wise Kenny Bayless to stop the fight.
Some are questioning if Morales is finally overthe hill as this was his 3rd loss in his last 4 fights. The
dMexican boxer looked like he had taken a severe beating once itwas all said and done as his forehead protruded lumps and hisface was covered with abrasions as well.
The 29 year old Morales was surely one of thebest in his weight class during his time. One also has to wonderif him moving down a weight class could have caused his body somefatigue as he had to make weight which is never good for enduranceand stamina.
Nonetheless, Pacquiao and trainer Freddie Roachwalk away with a cool 2 million in hard earned cash and the betterman won the fight.
Next up, Marco Antonio Barrera in a rematch?
