Green Bay (0-0) at Seattle (0-0)
When: Thursday, September 4th, 2014
Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA
Time: 5:35 ET
Line: Seahawks by 6
Save for one poor performance against Arizona last year, the Seahawks have been unbeatable at home, posting a 17-1 record over the last two seasons at CenturyLink Field. That record includes the now-infamous “Fail Mary” game, where the Packers appeared to have intercepted a pass on the game’s final play, only to have the replacement referees rule the simultaneous catch in Seattle’s favor and award them the game-winning touchdown in a 14-12 win. I say this only to prepare you for the telecast, in which this game will undoubtedly be mentioned at least a dozen times. As far as this year’s game, the Seahawks are the better team, at home, raising a banner. This is actually one of the few teams I could see walking into Seattle’s building and winning… but just not this particular game. Get back to me in January if this winds up as a playoff matchup and I might feel slightly different, but this one will go in the Seahawks favor.
Mike Ivcic’s Pick: Seattle 27, Green Bay 20
