NFL Playoff Picture

We're down to the final 3 weeks of the NFL's regular seasonand teams are vying for playoff positions. Let's take a look atwho's who and what's what and how things may or may not play out. We'll also include some other notes irrelevant to this year'splayoff picture however they are interesting to say the least!
18 teams are still in the hunt for a super bowl ring.
Cinci, Denver and NE will most likely be division winners (alongwith the Colts).
Jacksonville's opponents are a combined 7-32 which means theyare almost assured a wild card spot.
The final AFC wild card spot will be grabbed by either KC, Pittor SD. SD may be in too deep with a meeting at Indy. They do howeverplay KC though so that may help them as we feel that L.T. canrun all over that defense as he does vs. all others!

The Steelers face what may be the third hottestteam in the NFL, the Vikings, and this game won't be a gimme asthe Purple People Eaters have won 6 straight and are back at homein the Dome. Pitt finishes it off with the Browns and the Lionsbut don't laugh, Cleve is getting better and this game won't bean easy one for the Steelers.
Over in the NFL the playoff picture is a littlemore up in the air. The only team that is assured a spot is theSeahawks. They SHOULD have home field advantage as well.
The Giants need to beat KC this week to holdoff the charging Cowboys, especially since they finish up with2 on the road.
Dallas's path to glory looks quite a bit easierin which they play Washington, a winnable game, then they go toCarolina which will be tough then finish up with the weak Ramsat home. We like their chances.
Over in the NFC South, TB and Carolina are dukingit out for position. Both teams sport a 9-4 record and have theFalcons at 8-5 on their heels. One poorly played game could costany of these teams a coveted spot in the playoffs. The Falconsare in a must win situation every game from here on out and havesome tough opponents in the Bears, Bucs and Panthers.
Carolina's path is a nice one as they get thepatsy Saints, a winnable game vs. Dallas, then the Falcons tofinish out their regular season schedule.
The Bucs look to be in good shape as well withtheir remaining games being played against NE, Atlanta and NewOrleans, all winnable games, especially if Tom Brady doesn't gofor the Pats.
In our opinion, the Bears are the team that'sgoing to be interesting to watch. Their up on the Vikings whodon't appear to be slowing down by 1 game. They have the Falconsthis week which is a must win game because they then go on theroad to play GB and Minny, both which are road games.
Other notes of interest:
The Houston Texans are in danger of becomingonly the 8th team to go 1-15 since the NFL went to a 16 game scheduleback in 1978. 2001 Carolina Panthers anyone?
The Bengals will enter this year's NFL playoffsfor the first time in 15 years! The new "league dog" will becomethe Cardinals who haven't seen the turf during the playoffs for7 years.
The Eagles 5 year playoff run (the longest currentstreak in the NFL will come to an end this year.
The Eagles become the 6th Super Bowl loser outof the past 7 NOT to make the playoffs the next year. Must bepretty defeating!
One thing can be said for sure. This is a greattime to be alive and these are the good old days. Let the brewflow and the Doritos crunch.
Until next time, good luck in your action!
