The point spread for Thursday’s First Round NCAA Tournament game between the Michigan State Spartans and UCLA Bruins opened up at -2 on Sunday evening in favor of Michigan State at Online sportsbook.eu and the total was set at 128.5.

The spread hasn’t moved much, but the total has gone down 3.5 points to 125 as of Tuesday afternoon. So far, 51% of the betting public is on the Spartans. To help you better decide who to bet, take a look at these trends for tonight.

Spartans are 17-4-1 ATS in their last 22 NCAA Tournament games as a favorite.

Spartans are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Bruins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Bruins are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog.

Under is 4-1 in Spartans last 5 games as a favorite.

Under is 4-1 in Spartans last 5 NCAA Tournament games as a favorite of 0.5-6.5.

Under is 4-1 in Bruins last 5 games following a S.U. loss.

Over is 4-1 in Bruins last 5 NCAA Tournament games as an underdog.

My Prediction: It’s March and it’s that time of the year again for a big Michigan State run through the tournament. Despite a 10 seed, a 19-14 record, and a pathetic 11-20-1 record against the spread, this region sets up well for the Spartans. First up is UCLA, a team that finished 2nd in a down PAC-10. The Bruins just lost by 17 at Staples Center to Oregon. I won’t be against Tom Izzo and the Spartans this time of year. Michigan State advances.

Michigan State -1.5
