Opening Line: Marlins -113

We have a terrific pitching matchup tonight is San Francisco as the Giants and Matt Cain entertain Josh Johnson and the Florida Marlins. The Giants late rally was held off by Marlins’ closer Leo Nunez 4-3 last night. This makes the road team 4-0 this year between these two teams. Florida has now won 8 of their last 10 and are off to a good start on their West Coast trip. Despite the loss, the Giants have won 16 of 22 and are 28-19 at home this year. Cain (8-8, 3.10 ERA) will try to even the series tonight. Since getting rocked by Washington on July 9th for 7 runs, Cain has only allowed 2 earned runs in his last 2 starts covering 15 innings and has a 2.63 ERA at home this year. His 2.85 career ERA in 6 starts versus the Marlins is a good sign. He’ll need to be at his best, because Josh Johnson (10-3, 1.61 ERA) is having a Cy Young type season. He’s been even better in his last 3 starts posting a 0.44 ERA. Johnson has never beaten the Giants in 3 career starts, but has a nice 2.70 ERA.

This is a pitcher’s park with two terrific pitchers going tonight. Pablo Sandoval is doubtful to play tonight because of personal reason back in Venezuela and that will hurt the Giants offense if they want to break through against Johnson. Take the Marlins.

Pick: Florida -115
