Recent Meetings Don’t look now, but the Detroit Lions are on a roll. They’ve won 2 of 3 and have played close in every game this year but one, and even should have won their opening game in Chicago if it wasn’t for the touchdown reversal on the last play of the game. Matthew Stafford is back under center and threw 4 touchdowns last week in the Lions’ 37-25 win against the Redskins. They face a Jets team coming off a 9-0 loss at home to Green Bay despite outgaining the Packers 360-237. The Jets’ three turnovers really hurt. The Jets should have success today running the ball against one of the worst rush defenses in football. New York ranks 3rd in rushing with 153.4 yards a game. The Jets also play much better on the road this year (3-0) and are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games overall. When the Jets lost 10-9 at home to the Ravens to open the season, they bounced back by putting up 28 points in a win at New England. I expect another strong bounce-back this week against the Lions who are coming off a big win. The Jets will shut down Stafford and the rest of the offense and roll in this one.
