Grey Cup Betting Lines Active as Lions Host Blue Bombers in Championship
This time a year ago few would have expected that it would be the B.C. Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicking off in the 99th Grey Cup, but after an unpredictable 2011 campaign, that’s exactly what’s on the agenda.
After a tumultuous 0-5 start to the season, in which the Lions found themselves dead last in the West Division, the Travis Lulay-led squad turned their campaign around fast. Partway through the year, an eight-game win streak had bumped them all the way to the top of the CFL odds board.
In the East Division, a similar redemption project was taking place, only this time it didn’t involve stumbling out of the starting gates, in fact, quite the opposite. A 7-1 start ushered the Blue Bombers up the Grey Cup futures list and into the collective minds of the CFL betting community.
Could the upstart Blue Bombers and their inspired defense maintain the production that powered them to their early success? Now with Sunday’s Grey Cup fast approaching, the answer is within reach.
This weekend the clubs will tip off at BC Place, giving the hometown Lions a considerable environmental advantage. According to Bodog, Winnipeg is listed as a +7 underdog for the match.
Can the Blue Bombers continue to prove themselves as they’ve done all season?
