The Fresno State Bulldogs look to assure themselvesof a winning record this season when they take on the visitingBoise State Broncos Monday night.
Fresno State sits at 7-6 in the Western Athletic Conference,good for sixth place. But the Bulldogs are under a self-imposedsuspension from post-season play, so their season ends Saturdayat Nevada.
The Broncos are 5-9 in the WAC and are locked in at the sixspot for the conference tournament, which starts next Tuesday.
Fresno State is 11-2 straight up at home this season, 7-5 againstthe spread. Overall, the Bulldogs are 11-12 ats, 7-5 ats in theWAC and 6-7 ats as chalk.
Boise State is 12-10 against the number this season, 3-8 straightup and 5-5 ats on the road, 6-6 ats in conference play and 6-4ats when getting points.
In their most recent outing, Fresno State won at San Jose Statelast Thursday 87-80, their third win in their last four games.
Boise State has lost four of its last five games, includinga 64-62 home loss to Utah State last Thursday. But the Broncoshave won the last three games in the series vs. the Bulldogs,and five of the last six, including a 66-63 decision in Idahothree weeks ago. Both teams shot miserably, but Boise State hit17 of 21 free-throws and won the rebounding battle by a 55-38margin.
Fresno State has a winning record despite shooting just 41 percentfrom the field, allowing opponents to shoot 46 percent, and gettingoutrebounded by four per game.
Boise State shoots 44 percent from the floor and a WAC-best72 percent from the line. The Broncos own a -1.9 rebounds pergame margin.
