Low Juice or Vigorish?Bonuses are a bettors’ bestfriend, but a close second is low or reduced juice, or “vigorish.” Juice and Vigorish, or simply Vig,are terms you’ll hear quite frequently. Sportsbooks wouldn’tsurvive, or at least they wouldn’t make any money, if it weren’tfor the Vig. Simply put, the Vig is a commission the sportsbook(the house) receives for doing business with you. Most commonly, sportsbooks will offerwagers on -110 or 20-cent lines. You may have heard of “DimeLines.” That’s when a sportsbook offers bets at -105,or a 10-cent line. Most bettors accept the Vigorish aspart of the game. But for big bettors, it can make a big differencefinancially. That’s why many experienced and serious bettorsseek out dime lines. For example, at a book offering 20-cent linesor -110, you’re betting $110 to win $100. That means thatin order to just break even over the course of 100 bets, you’dneed to win 53 of them. But if you’re playing with a bookthat offers dime lines, or -105, you’re betting $105 to win$100, you’re making a profit at 52 wins out of 100 bets. For most bettors who are wagering acouple of hundred dollars a week, the juice won’t matter asmuch. But for serious sports bettors who are betting $1,000 to $100,000,you’ll want to look for sportsbooks that have dime lines,or low juice. To decide if you want a sportsbookbonus or low vig go to our
