Reno-Tahoe Open
Outright plays (1.5pts):
Duffy Waldorf to win 16/1 e.w. @ Stan James, Bet365 and BetInternet Some notable withdrawals from this event so don't expect these prices to last the day. In the absence of Bo Van Pelt, Waldorf should be the favourite for this event. He played well in the early rounds last week, had a top-5 finish the week before and has finished in the top-25 in all five years at this event. Scott McCarron to win 25/1 e.w. @ Stan James, BetInternet, Ladbrokes and BlueSq Missed yesterday's rick of 50/1 from Ladbrokes, but still value at half those odds. He may have missed the last two cuts, but his form had been improving beforehand and, living in Reno, he always plays better in his home state of Nevada. He has finished 4th, 24th and 10th in the last three years here and in the top-5 in three of the last four years in the Las Vegas Invitational. Ben Crane to win 28/1 e.w. @ BetInternet No such local ties for Crane, but rather he is the player with the best finish last week - he finished 9th. Maybe that finish in a major would be good enough reason to avoid him this week, but he has plenty of motivation this week as he still lies 138th in the Money List and can now realistically retain his Tour Card after last week's earnings and he should be able to draw some confidence from the fact that he finished 6th on his debut here last year. Not a huge price, but this is a field of unconvincing players. |

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated):
Harrison Frazar to beat Notah Begay -111 @ Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and SIA Frazar has won five of their last six head-to-heads, has a good record on this course and is much less erratic. (also available at Five Dimes) Kevin Sutherland to beat Notah Begay -110 @ Bet365 and BlueSq Same here, though course form not as good. But Sutherland has finished ahead of Begay in each of their last four common events. Hidemichi Tanaka to beat Notah Begay -120 @ SkyBet [3pts] Expecting a very good week from Tanaka who has finished 17th and 6th in the last two years here and is in good form with a 3rd place finish in the B.C. Open last month, the last time that the PGA Tour counted two events in one week. Begay has failed to finish ahead of him in each of the last five common events. Hidemichi Tanaka to beat Jose Maria Olazabal -111 @ Centrebet Olly's first time at the course and already trails Tanaka 2-5-0 h2h this year. (also available at Expekt and BlueSq) |
