Man turns $125 into $80,000
There is hope for you parlay bettors. You sometimes wounder if they post this shit so people will play them because they are getting killed the past two weeks buy the public!!
 So you figure a parlay is a sucker bet? Maybe you should consider the payoff on two winning parlay bets made by a 52-year-old California man earlier this month. The lucky bettor made about $80,000 on two parlays he made on July 3 with British-based bookmaker bet365.com. The first bet was a 12-team parlay for $25, the second was nine-teamer for $100. The first bet earned the man more than $36,277. That shot up by 50 percent to over $54,000 courtesy of bet365's bonus offer. The second bet earned the man nearly $19,000. That was boosted 35 percent to more than $25,000, again thanks to bonuses. Both bets involved Major League Baseball games. Here is the breakdown of each ticket: 10-teamer: Colorado -140 and Over 13.0 +105 (vs. Detroit) Houston -160 and Over 8.0 -110 (vs. Texas) St Louis -155 and Over 8.5 -105 (vs. Seattle) San Diego -183 and Over 7.5 +115 (vs. Kansas) Pittsburgh -125 (vs. Milwaukee) LA vs. Anaheim Over 9.0 -130 Minnesota vs. Arizona Over 10.0 -110 Oakland vs. SF Over 9.0 +105 Nine-teamer: Boston -176 (vs. Atlanta) Texas vs. Houston Over 10.5 -115 Pittsburgh -153 and Under 9.0 +105 (vs. Milwaukee) Cincinnati -160 (vs. Cleveland) Detroit vs. Colorado Over 13.0 -105 San Diego -200 and Over 7.5 (vs. Kansas) Minnesota vs. Arizona Over 11.0 +105 So, does this sort of thing happen often? "Too often!" said John Coates, Chief Executive of bet365. "It maybe happens a couple of dozen times a year that we have parlay payouts (to small stakes) in excess of US$20,000." bet365 has one customer in the Bahamas who has hit six 10-teamers in the last 10 months, in baseball, college football and college basketball. The payouts have ranged from $30,000 to $75,000. In July, the bettor was right on 11 plays in a 12-team parlay, narrowly missing out on a $170,000 payout.

..
Everybody knows someone, who knows someone, etc.... who has hit a parlay or even win some money in slots. The "if he can do it, so can I" attitude will get you broke. Success of the past has no factor in the success of your future in parlay or even slot situations.

It probably did happen, but, It could be a story to get people to parlay for the big bucks. 1 thing they did not tell anyone is: How much money the sportsbook made on parlays LMSAO!!! I bet what he won was a drop in a bucket compared to what the sportsbook made on parlays. Every bookmaker (locally) has told me that parlays are sucker bets and they like for people to hit a few cause it makes em think that they can keep doing it. I saw what an individuals,% of chance it was to hit a 3 or 4 team parlay and the odds was very low. I wish I could remember the %.

If you bet 600 bets risking 110 to win a 100 with a 57.5% winning percentage..... 345 wins X 100 = $34,500 255 lost X 110 = $28,500 Net profit = $6,450 So say instead you play 300 2 bet parlays risking 110 to win 286 with a 33% win percentage it breaks down like this........... 99 wins X 286 = $28,314 201 lost X 110 = $22,110 Net profit = $6,204 Ok now 200 bets on three team parlays risking 110 to win 660 with a win percentage of 19%........ 38 wins X 660 = $25,080 162 lost X 110 = $ 17,820 Net Profit= $7,260 First example there was 66k risked and the second example there was 33k risked and the last example there was 22k risked.... You would make 9.8% on your money in the first example in the second example you would 18.8% on your money and the third example you would have made 33% on your money. So betting the games straight you would have risked 44k more and made $810 dollars less. Parlays are not something the books like much and if they did they would try selling them to you but they do not. In order to know what to bet you have to be able to calculate the vig on different cards because some parlay cards charge up to 40% vig. PARLAYS ARE NOT SUCKER BETS!!!! You just have to know how to handle them and still stay with proper money management. I hope this helps clear a few things up.
