Detroit at San Antonio: Game 1...Finals


1st Game of Finals...Det Beat Miami in 7 Games..4-3 while SA Beat Phoenix in 5 Games..4-1...Last Wednesday..Det has had 2 Full Days of Rest and to Prepare while SA has had 7 Full Days to Rest, Prepare and Heal...Always have the Rest vs Rust Issue with SA...Det and SA meet Twice this Season with Det 2-0 ATS..1-1 SU with the O/U at 1-1..Game at SA went Under with Det Shooting 35.5 % FG while SA shot 43.1 % FG...Game at Det went Over with SA Shooting 47.6 % FG while Det Shot 51.4 % FG...with 62 Pts being Scored in 1st Q..Game at Det is when Duncan Hurt his Ankle Early in 1st Q and Missed the Next 12 Games..Both Teams are Pretty Healthy Right now.....Now Here is What I See..Det tends to Play Better D as a Series goes Along (Adjustments are Made to What the O Team has Done Well in the Earlier Game for the Next Game)..SA has had the Week to Heal and Prepare for Game 1 of the Finals..Think the Juices will Flow in 1st Game of Finals with Both Teams wanting that 1st Important W Bad..Teams tend to Focus and put More Emphasis on Scoring to Win the 1st Game than Playing D..then Adjust More as Series goes On..(Like Over in Game 1)..They are 2 of the Top D Teams in NBA..Parker and Ginobili Fell in Love with the Fast Pace Games vs Seattle and Phoenix....Great Matchup of Guards with Billups and Hamilton vs Parker and Ginobili...At Point Parker will have the Speed Advantage But Billups will have the Size and Strength Advantage..Look for Billups to Post Parker up Some in the Game while Parker will Penetrate More (Like a Healthy Wade did for Miami)..Bowen will Cover Hamilton some to Slow his Scoring...Duncan has Advantage vs B Wallace (Duncan can also take Centers out of the Middle and Shoot Mid Range Jump Shots unlike Shaq) so Det will use R Wallace covering Duncan Also..R Wallace must stay out of Foul Trouble...SA has the Better and Deeper Bench than Det so it will be Critical Times of the Game when the Bench Plays for Both Teams..Both Like to Play Hard Nose D just see 1st Game being Higher Scoring then Others Played..With the 2-3-2 Format it will be Very Important for SA to get W in Game 1..Det was down 3-2 to Miami and Had to Win Last 2 Games in a Row to Advance to Finals..Somewhat Drained Mental Focus going to SA where SA Has been Tough at Home..Just see SA in the Best Spot in Game 1..Me Thinks..So..

With you on Detroit. I'm going to wait and see how game 1 is played before I take an o/u. I didn't think Spurs could slow down Phoenix and they did, can you imagine what they'll do to an already pathethic Pistons offense?

Well 1-1 Nite...Really Thought the 1st Game would have been Higher Scoring...Both Teams came Out Tight and Cold (Then Det Played Better)..SA looked like a Deer caught in Headlights to Start the Game..Then Det Fell apart Also...Really Sorry on the Over Call...Hope Everyone had a Good Nite...Congrats$$ to All on SA and the Under..!!
