Opinions on the series?

Everybody talking up the Spurs...They are probably the best team but -270...possible big value on Detroit....the Defending Champs big underdog..In my opinion SA beat up on weak western conf teams...they controlled the glass with ease against Phx....I dont think so against Pistons...

Just thinking about throwing some $ on DET Series?

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THOUGHT.

HOWEVER, HOW GOOD ARE THERE CHANCES ACTUALLY? I DON'T KNOW.

If Detroit steals one in San Antonio then the Pistons look to be a strong play. I'm going to shop around and see what prices are out there.

Detroit is currently +259; if I can get 300 then I'll take it. If Detroit loses game one then I'll almost for sure take whatever it is then.

if Det wins one in San An, I see spurs take at least one in Det in the middle 3. no single team has ever won the 3 middle games except last years Pistons, first in NBA history, i dont see it repeating so soon. Even if Det wins one out of first 2, San An matches up well enough to take one back in DET, my opinion.

Does anyone know what the series price last year was DET/Lakers?

Dancally,

If I remember correctly it was at least -350 (i somewhat remember due to an expert on this site hedging in the middle of the series, after seeing Lakers match up vs Pistons in action). Lakers were heavy favorites due to the public, calling them "greatest team ever assembled". I know, because i was one of them lol.

Detroit plays a better game at home and on the road than San Antonio. San Antonio is good at home, but get 'em on the road and they're not nearly as good.

LA Lakers were -600/-650 favorites last year before the series.

-Rasheed will be on foul trouble 2-3 games guarding Duncan.
-Ginobli and Parkers quickness will allow them to get in the lane for FTs/and or kick outs for 3s
-Duncan,Mohammed/Nestrovic and Horry will close the middle and MAKE the Pistons beat them from outside.
-Barry and Horry will have PLENTY of open looks ALL series long.
-Bowen will contain RIP 2-3 games and get him frustrated.
-Spurs have the deeper bench.
-Spurs can pick up the pace and do it effectively...Detroit can for maybe short stints.

Spurs in 5.

Yeah Lakers were -600 or so as I remember.

Here's a prop from Pinnacle:
Will the Spurs win in 6 or less games? YES = -115

Seems much better than -261. Game 6 will be in San Antonio! I know Game 7 will be also but in this league if a team can force a Game 7, it's anybody's series to win.

For a bet of equal amount on each of these 2 options, having the security of a Game 7 victory would mean only cashing for 74 % of the amount of a 6 games or less bet. The profit would only be 44 % as much.

Looking at it the other way, by taking the higher odds you would get back 1.35 times as much with a profit of 2.27 times as much.

$500 bet at -115 yields a profit of $434.78
$500 bet at -261 yields a profit of $191.57
