That Rafael Palmeiro (551) has more homers than Mickey Mantle (536), Ted Williams (521) and Willie McCovey (521)

I was kinda blown away by this. Rafy may go down as the most underrated power hitter of all time.

I know this doesnt have anything to do with capping, but was feeling a bit passionate about smallball so thought Id chatter about something that surprised me while reading up on the game.

Here's another that will probably never go down: Fernando Tatis' record for Grand Slams in an inning off the same pitcher, 2

Also Nolan Ryan's 7 no hitters. Doesn't sound like much, but if you think about it it's flat nasty!

Wonder how long he plans to keep playing? I know he's like 40+ already, but he may reach 600 if he sticks it out for another few years, especially playing his home games in a relatively hitter friendly park. Not many have made it to the 600 mark.

7 no hitters....no one will ever come close to that. There are actually franchises that have never had any pitcher throw a single no hitter while playing for em, LOL

Q,

Si Amigo, That stache is a shrub. I think it'd be cool if he went out Rollie Fingers style with that monster!

The No hitter one fools with my brain. I can make a case that Dwight Gooden if he had not gotten mixed up with the blow would have been a guy who could have thrown a hand full. He was absolutely filthy back in the mid eighties. Sad to say we'll never know.

Part of me thinks if there was one Ryan there could be another but not likely in our lifetime. Every time I think its possible I cant match that thought with a potential name that could do it lol....Mark Prior had an outside shot but it appears he's gonna be a hard lucker that can't stay healthy. He's a stud, but is just about as brittle as Juan Gonzalez!

It would take a crazy mix of a man to beat Ryan's record. Im thinking a guy thats big in stature, pitches inside, a guy hitters fear, with supreme maddux like control. Yeah, your right stif, will never happen!

Kevin.......My uncle was at that game and he saved his ticket stub. He is actually in the process of trying to get him to sign the stub. That's a trip.
