View Full Version : Something really FISHY with the Florida Philly Line?

First off, the line started at something like -120 for Florida which was fishy enough considering Padilla has been absolutely horrible and Willis has been amazing, plus he has pitched a complete game shutout against Philly earlier this month already. Then the public hits Florida really hard, and the line went up to -136 to -140, but all of a sudden the line goes back down to -125 to -130 even though the public is still hitting Florida hard (about 85%)... what's going on here? Do the bookies know something we don't know, because it seems like they want us all to take Florida!

You are right, that game stinks like not many I have seen thus far this season.
I'd play Philly but I have a real hard time backing Padilla until he proves he's back fully from the injury, so I probably won't
Wouldn't play Florida though, that's for sure

Is Thome playing?
The Circus today is across the street, maybe some players are stuffing their faces with cotton candy.

I put money on the fish last night when the line was -135 and got worried today, but now they are looking okay. Only thing is, the worst possible scenario is happening right now. I have money on the game and the fish for the 1st 5 innings, yet they just called a rain delay in the middle of the bottom of the 5th. If they cancel it right here, both bets get pushed! Why couldn't they just finish the inning!?

Just to make sure, to rule a game after a rain delay, it has to complete 5 full innings right?

Yes. If it were rained out now, it would be no game because the Phils didn't complete hitting in the 5th. If the Phils were winning however, it would be an official game.

Well, they finished 5 now....so it's official either way now

They've delayed this so many times, they might as well call it official at this point!

I hope they do. I have the over and it doesn't appear that is going to hit. If they call it, i get a push.
