Taking the A's and Blanton at -109. Great price for the hottest pitcher in MLB. Seattle's Moyer is no slouch, nor is their lineup, making this play based on it being a profitable proposition (in my opinion) if it were played 100 times. Blanton is no flash in the pan, great minor league numbers to support his being dubbed a rock solid pitcher.

This guy should have 4 wins but lost due to lack of offence.

The Athletics have failed to score in each of Blanton's last two starts, including a 1-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday. Blanton went the distance, allowing one run and six hits.

``It would be nice to get my first win, but I'm trying not to think about it, honestly,'' Blanton said. ``If I keep pitching and keep us in the game, we're going to score some runs and it'll come.''

IMO, Oakland has plenty of quality MLB hitters in their line up, it's just that they almost all seem to be slumping at the same time. They're getting guys on base, they just haven't put enough hits together to score anything worth speaking of.

I think once those bats start coming around, Oakland is gonna be one red hot team if their young pitchers like Blanton and Haren keep pitching well.
