Can someone explain betting on the ML? Does that mean you bet on what the majority of the public is betting on?
The ML is a straight up wager. No points are involved. The only way you win is if the side you chooses wins the game outright.

Lets say you've got a game like this:
Seattle -5
Portland +5
If you bet the spread, you bet $110 to win $100 whether you take the fav or the dog.
in moneyline betting, you eliminate the spread and just pick who you think is going to WIN the game straight up (su)
The game may look like this
Seattle -200
Portland +170
This means you would be 200 to profit 100 if your betting seattle. If you bet portland, you would bet 100 to profit 170.
