Whatup guys, I havn't been around much, as last week was spring break and i was enjoying the saucy libations in Cabo and then Las Vegas. Took a few days off from gambling in Mexico which really did me good...but now that my boys are in the Sweet 16, no more fuckin around:yeah:

I follow these Wildcats very close, and goddamnit i would love nothing more than for my senior year to road trip to St. Louie for the final 4. Tough couple of games to get there, but we'll take them one at a time

Arizona +1.5 Vs. Oklahoma State (MoneyLine Arizona +105)

This game has been hyped up at the social security special: Lute Olson vs. Eddie Sutton. Its clear these two coaches are two of the best in the game, and I expect a great one tonight with these two wizards on the sideline.

Oklahoma State sarts 4 seniors, and has 4 seniors coming off the bench from a team that made it to the Final 4 last year. However in the first two games of the tourney Joey Graham, the teams leading scorer has struggled mightily. He has only averaged 20 minutes a game as he has seen lots of foul trouble. Meanwhile Arizona is led by its Senior Duo of Channing Frye and Salim Stoudamire. Many believe the key to this game will be the performance of Salim's and Joey Graham. While Graham will be viatal to OK State's success, I believe the key for Arizona in this one is the inside game of Channing and Ivan Radenovic. These two have a great inside outside game going right now, and both of them can step away from the bucket and hit the jumper. But tonight these boys should dominate inside, as OK State's tallest player is 6'8 (Frye is 6'11 and IRad 6'10). Add in the athleticism of Hassan 'Hot Sauce' Adams on the offensive boards and i think Arizona's inside game is the key to this match up. As long as Mustfa Shakur runs a solid point and doesn't force the ball and cause turnovers, UofA should be ok in this one. Im worried about Okie State's ability to play great pressure D, which could force some Arizona turnovers.

Arizona is also playing very well so far in the Tourney, and Okie State has been less than impressive. I like the way the Wildcats have put their opponents away in the second half's the first two games, and have also really stepped up their D holding their first 2 opponents to under 40% from the field.

Prediction: This will be a close one throughout. Okie State definatly has an advantage with senior experience, but i think Arizona's superior talent and depth is the difference here. Zona goes 8 deep and with Sophomore Kirk Walters coming off the bench definatly has an advantage down low. Frye goes for 25 and 12, Adams 12 and 10, and Radenovic 10 and 7. Salim will add 15-20 but his role will be the offensive distraction. As long as he doesn't force stupid shots and lets Frye and IRad work down low, Arizona wins this one.

What a great fucking day today. One game to get to the final four versus the #1 ranked team in the land most of the year. To be the best you gotta beat the best, and just like in 1997 when Arizona toppled three #1's on the way to the national championship, the #1 bashing begins today...

Arizona +5 vs. Illinois
2 great teams, in a matchup that is easily national championship/final four caliber. Illinois has been very impressive this season. They win ball games, period. They use their D, their guard play, their big men down low, whatever it takes to get the W.

Arizona is rolling. We're playing our best ball lately and Salim Stoudamire is playing like a man with something to prove. Frye has been solid down low, but less than stellar. Arizona is in the elite 8 thanks to Stoudamire (obviously) and Hassan Adams. Adams is playing rediculous ball lately, and he is basically unguardable. He can step away from the bucket and hit the J or drive strong to the hoop, or play tough in the paint grabbing boards with his rediculous hops.

This game's going to be a great one. Illinois will have the home crowd in front of them, but Arizona is a tested squad after going up against Okie State, Wake Forrest and Washington this year among others.

I expect Illinois to take the early lead, as Arizona usually doesn't come out strong in the first half (with the exception of last game vs. Okie State) However Salim's shooting and Hassan's athleticism will keep this one close all the way. As long as Arizona limits its turnovers and gets continued support from Rogers, McClelland and Walters off the bench, the Cats have a great shot at pulling off the upset.

I had a dream last night that this one came down to a last second shot as well. Not going to say who, but if its in Stoudamire's hands hopefully he can nail his 4th game winner of the year.
