LA Lakers ML +100

Hell of alot more motivation for LA here tonight then Utah, who has packed it in for the season. Lakers stink, but Utah SUCKS. If LA doesn't win this one, their playoff hopes are pretty much out the window completely, so i suspect they show up tonight and get this much needed win.

Houston Rockets +2 (-105)

Rockets are inconsistant, but after the ass whipping they took in Minny, I suspect they will be ready to come out and win over a top team tonight on their home floor. They match up well with Miami, as they actually have a big man in Yao who may not be better than Shaq, but who can at least stand up to him and not allow him to dunk at will. T-Mac shot horribly in the game against Minny, and I expect that to change tonight. He has a huge size advantage over D Wade, and should be able to get his share of pts. Both teams are good from 3 pt range, so I consider that a wash. Houston may just want/need this one more. Besides, it's Jeff's turn to win over Stan in the battle of the Van Gundy brothers after Houston dropped their last game in Miami. Those things and home court are enough to make me go with the Rockets tonight.

2 units each

LA Lakers pk +100 (2H)

4 units

Kobe wants this game, and Utah is notorious for fading in the 4th qtr, so I'm taking a shot here....

Well nevermind. Jazz shoot 99% from the field in the 2nd half. Unfuckingreal. Lakers 14-23 from the free throw line.

Fuck this

Stif, that's wack!! Play the odds. Losing effort for me for sure tonight, but shit. I love basketball. Hell, it's played indoors... unlike baseball. :beer2:

So many things can go wrong in basketball....it's just so frustrating. I mean I got about exactly what I expected from LA....the Kobe show....and most nights that would have been plenty to beat a shithole Utah team who averages about 79 points a game. Seriously, when was the last time Utah shot like they did tonight? Giricek and Okur were fucking unconscious for the whole 2nd half, and most of the first. You can't predict that, and you can't cap it....and anyone who says they are is full of shit. It just happened, and that's how the game went down. I know it's part of the game and it's part of betting, but it sucks.

I mean don't get me wrong, if i make a pick and i was clearly wrong, i'll be the first to admit it. Look at my NIT picks tonight...UNLV and CSUF. Both got routed and never had a chance to cover....so i blew it on those calls....but I watched the whole Lakers game and I haven't seen Utah play like that since like the 2nd week of the season. No way that could have been predicted, and LA did plenty to beat the Jazz team that has been showing up for oh, about the last 3 months or so.....just so happens that they picked tonight to play their best game since like October.

To me anyway, baseball is so much easier to predict once you can get a grip on what's going on. So much less "action" and so many less things to go wrong. As long as you're not afraid to lay a little chalk to get a team with big advantages if that's what they release the line at, it's really not hard to pick more winners than losers in bases.

It's seriously gotten to the point where I can't even stand watching basketball, even when my teams are winning
