This match was unfuckingbelievable. Likhotseva was up 5-2 in the 3rd set and had 3 mp's but blew them all. She then lost 3 straight games to be tied 5-5. She won the 11th game to lead 6-5 but then on Sfar's serve she had another 3 mp's. She blew those as well. Finally she won in the TB on the 9th match point. Unreal..Fortunate but Unreal!!!!

Not sure I'll play the other matches on Wednesday. Still waiting for the Serena line to come out but if it's high I'll most likely not touch it. Considering both dogs in Bartoli and Martinez but right now I'm not swayed enough to take either. Will most likely ride this play out.

Not much separating the two in terms of rankings but so far in the way they've played this season Hantuchova has played quite better in the early on. Hantuchova had an excellent week in the last tourney in Doha beating Maleeva, Bovina and Martinez before finally losing in the Semis to eventual champion Sharapova. This week already she continued here fine form by knocking off the #6 seed in the tourney Alicia Molik in two straight sets. The same form can't be said for Likhovtseva as her wins have really come against lesser opponents while she's struggled with the better players on tour. Her best win to date was against an out of form Emilie Loit in one of the first tourney's of the season. Since then here best win has been against #75 ranked Jill Craybas. In the first round Likhovtseva struggled mightily with Sfar as she was taken the distance in a 3 set thrill ride. Likhovtseva needed 9 match points before she finally won the match. I know Likhovtseva saw the doctor in her opening match but I'm not quite sure the reason why. Anyway's Lihovtseva will not be a pushover but with the current for of Hantuchova I expect her to continue the solid play.

When you have a chance, can you explain how units work. I've been betting for years, but have no clear concept of how to calculate them. For example, it's possible that your units are different than some other guy's units right? (And I won't even get into the "Big Unit"...)

Finally, any thoughts on the upcoming Davis Cup matches. I sort of like Croatia v. the U.S. Ancic and Ljubicic are certainly on top of their games. I'm just not sure how the doubles will shake out. I took Sweden to win the whole thing at 17 to 1 but I see that both Joachim Jo. and Robin Soderling are out for the upcoming matches.

dude ... i have no idea what happened to Molik .. though i stayed away form that game as i have alot of respect for Hantuchova (and her legs) ... just as Molik is in good form and touch and has had a great year so far including the run in the Aussie Open ... so has Hantuchova ... i wasnt suprised by result ... just the straight sets ... Molik usually fights!

Horatio - Me too..My book was releasing lines at 4:40 AM just 40 minutes before the first match. I've had no sleep this week. Plus I've complained left and right to Pinnacle as they claim to put lines out no later then 6 hours before the first match. Last night was the first night in the Dubai tourney they had the lines out at a normal time. Bad luck on Kuznestsova. I would have thought she would've cruised against Mirza. Mirza is proving to be a bigger talent everyday. She's have an awesome year. Something about the Russian girls sometimes they just don't seem to be in the right mind frame. Good Luck!!!!

BulgarianBandit - Welcome aboard we're glad to have you here. Units are pretty simple. Everyone's is different. A unit can be $10, $50, $100 or whatever you want really. It's basically the basis for the amount your winning or losing. When I put up 1* it means to win 1 unit. When I play a -200 at 5 units I'm putting up 10 units to 5. Now onto the Davis Cup. One problem for Croatia is the doubles. The Bryan's should roll in there matchup. Ancic might be ontop of his game but I don't think he's a match for either Agassi or Roddick. Roddick will serve all over him since Ancic proved this past week he struggles against big servers. Agassi will just frustrate him I think. Ljubicic is the wild card but I'm kind of expecting him to struggle soon cause he's played sooooo many tournament and soooo many matches the last few weeks. He's been awesome up to the point of the finals where he normally loses to Federer. I think the US will advance but Croatia is definetly a nice dog to take a shot on. As for Sweden that's a real long shot. I love the Johansson's but Soderling is just too inconsistent. They've got a very tough 1st round match versus France and I'm not sure they'll get out of it. I'm making these two plays. Neither am I confident in but both I'm willing to play. It's been an awesome week so far and most likely unless I can get to the computer Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this will be my last plays for this tourney. Even with a bum ankle the teenage sensation Mirza continues to dazzle here in Dubai. She not only beat #7 ranked Kuznetsova #4 ranked in Dubai, but she beat her pretty easily. Her baseline game is said to be outstanding. At 18 years old Mirza's confidence is ever growing especially after winning her home country's tourney a few weeks ago. Jankovic is a solid player and all her losses have come against good opponents so I can't take much from her results. I'm really just riding the hot player in Mirza right now. This will probably be a 3 setter as Jankovic seems to go 3 sets in almost all her matches. Odds say this match is even and it is from the looks of it. Just going to take the shot here.
