There's a rumor going around that Minnesota and Portland are talking about a trade. Minnesota are talking about giving up Sprewell, Cassell, and Szczerbiak for Rahim, Stoudamire, Patterson, Van Exel, and Miles.

It's not a bad trade actually. Sprewell and Cassell suck. They are not contributing anything to Minnesota. Sprewell wants more money and Cassell is sluggish. KG needs all the help he can get and the trade with Portland is not so bad...

I actually love that trade for the Wolves. Spree and Sam are pathetic. Sam is still the man, (FSU) but he needs a change of scenery. Plus he is old. I really like D Miles. He has a lot of potential and a guy like KG to show him the way is perfect.:yeah:

I think trading Szczerbiak is stupid and I dont see why they would want to trade for Van Exel he said hes retiring after this season... Why would you trade him? Theres no value there

Not too bad, If that goes down I think Portland will be a better overall team.

Heck it's Kevin McHales team to screw up anyways..What's he done the last few years for trades? He brought in Sprewell who's always carried baggage with him and Cassell is a medical list candidate that will have to retire...Wally World is the only thing besides KG that the fans come to see play..they won't let him go unless it's to Cleveland and if that happens, it will be for Gooden or another forward or pick from the Cavs...

T-Blazers players, no one wants except Stoudamire and he'll end up with the Fakers if he's traded..

Later and GL tonight..

Jason Kidd wants to join KG in Minnesota. The Wolves want Kidd. Minnesota also wants Abdur-Rahim also. Will they have new homes? We will see in the next 7 days until the trade deadline.

Will the Celtics try to stay in first place, or trade now to build for the future? Peter May says that if Danny Ainge's track record is any guide, he'll be wheeling and dealing, starting with shipping Gary Payton out of Boston. What Will Danny Do?

Just wanted to update this with a couple of rumors regarding my team...the lakers...

Rumored trades I've heard on sports radio and read on a few different websites...

Lakers/Sacramento:
L. Odom for Peja and B.Jackson

Lakers/Utah
C.Butler, D. George, V.Divac for C. Boozer

IMO...if the Lakers can pull of these 2 trades it would be a huge upgrade for them....not sure if these will happen or not, but as a Lakers fan I would love to see these 2 take place....

But who knows...they're just rumors right now...

The NBA's trading deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. Here's the latest talk around the league as of 4 p.m. ET on Monday.

http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/4/3327.jpg

Odom

The Rumor: Lakers forward Lamar Odom for Kings forward Peja Stojakovic and Kings guard Bobby Jackson.

The Reason: Odom needs the ball in his hands to be effective but that honor belongs to Kobe Bryant. Stojakovic requested a trade in the offseason after Chris Webber criticized unnamed Kings players for lacking toughness.

The Latest: Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak told the Los Angeles Times that Odom had not been offered to any team. However, the Sacramento Bee reported Monday that a Stojakovic deal was discussed among Kings officials but turned down by president Geoff Petrie and co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof.

Webber

The Rumor: Kings forward Chris Webber to the Knicks.

The Reason: Knicks president Isiah Thomas is due to make another shakeup with the disappointing Knicks, who begin the second half at 21-32 but are only five games out of the East's final playoff spot.

The Latest: Webber's contract, which includes three years at over $62 million, will scare away just about every team – well, every team but the Knicks, who, according to the Chicago Tribune, inquired about Webber. The Sacramento Bee reported Monday that there is "strong sentiment within the Kings organization" to trade Webber, not Stojakovic.

Boozer

The Rumor: Jazz forward Carlos Boozer for Lakers forward Lamar Odom or Lakers forward Caron Butler.

The Reason: Larry Miller recently criticized Boozer's inconsistent play, prompting a face-to-face meeting between the Jazz owner and Utah's prized free-agent signing.

The Latest: Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor told the Desert Morning News that a potential swap with the Lakers is "absolutely ludicrous."

Payton

The Rumor: Celtics point guard Gary Payton to a playoff contender.

The Reason: Payton, who was never in Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge's long-term plans, has asked to be traded.

The Latest: The Boston Herald reported Sunday that there hasn't been much interest in the 36-year-old Payton. The Celtics are seeking a top prospect or a first-round pick. One potential scenario involving Indiana and Seattle would send Payton to the Pacers and bring Sonics rookie center Robert Swift (an Ainge favorite) to Boston.

Rahim is a good player yes, however who's he done anything with? The Vancouver Grizzlies, now Memphis of course, so he'll have to step it up wherever he goes..

Vlade Divac is now with the Faker, Bookie? I must be missing something there..I've seen 10 Lakers games in person this year and never saw him in uniform.

Names that you will see traded if they do come down to the wire would be:

Stoudamire from the Blazers

Sprewell & Olowakandi from the T-Wolves

Boozer from the Jazz

Walker from the Hawks

Davis from the Hornets

Who'll take them? Hah..that's a good question..Maybe the Wizards will move oft-traded Jamison in a 3 way...

And my bet would be on McHale, former Minnesota Gopher and hacker with the Boston Celtics, who's 6-11 and Mark Cuban is 5'11 on a soap box...

If I see a trade go down with the kings/fakers...odom for peja and bobby J. I will never watch another pro basketball game in my life. The kings can get a hell of a lot better than that. also the last thing I want to see as a kings fan is peja or bobby suit up in a stupid purple and gold jersey.
As far as the kings trading webber, I say do it, the sooner the better. Over the years I have watched Webber consistebtly fail in big situations. He is the last person to critisize anyone about not having heart. I would take odom for webber, then go to western conference finals watch webber be on the wrong side of the winning team again and watch as the kings win the cahmpionships over miami 4-3.
go kings.
bobby J is underated.

Marshall

The Rumor: Raptors forward Donyell Marshall to Miami for swingman Wesley Person, forward Malik Allen and a draft pick – or to San Antonio for forward Malik Rose.

The Reason: Marshall, 32, has been mentioned frequently as the next Raptor to go since the Raptors dealt Vince Carter and shifted their focus to building around Chris Bosh. Parting with Marshall would give Toronto room to sign free agents this summer. The Heat have been seeking an experienced power forward to play with Shaquille O'Neal, and the Spurs are looking to part with Rose, a regular in Gregg Popovich's dog house, and the four years remaining on his contract.

The Latest: Raptors general manager Rob Babcock told the Toronto Star that the chances of making any deal are "more like 35-65" and wouldn't trade Marshall unless "you're going to get a player who is good for your future." According to the Miami Herald, the Heat are interested in Marshall but would have to include Michael Doleac, one of Miami's key reserves, to swing a deal. Two Heat players told the newspaper that trading Doleac would be a mistake.

_________________

Davis

The Rumor: Hornets guard Baron Davis to Toronto or Atlanta.

The Reason: Last week, Hornets coach Byron Scott criticized Davis for wanting to extend the rehabilitation of his injured ankle in his hometown of Los Angeles. Davis has played in just 17 of New Orleans' 53 games, but the former All-Star's attitude began to sour last summer when his agent hinted that Davis – put off by the team's lack of offseason activity – might want to play for another team.

The Latest: According to the New York Post, the Raptors have offered guard Rafer Alston and forwards Lamond Murray and Donyell Marshall, and the Hawks have also showed interest in Davis. The Times-Picayune reported Tuesday that Hornets general manager Allan Bristow met with team owner George Shinn but weren't considering moving Davis before the trade deadline.

_________________

Redd

The Rumor: Bucks guard Michael Redd to the Warriors, Blazers, Timberwolves, Cavaliers or Grizzlies.

The Reason: Redd has let it be known that he'd like to be LeBron James' sidekick when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in July. The Bucks hope to sign Redd to a long-term contract but face the risk of losing him for nothing.

The Latest: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel suggested on Monday the following scenarios involving Redd and forward Keith Van Horn, whose contract of one year remaining at $15.7 million makes him attractive – to Portland for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, another player and a draft pick, or to Golden State for Dale Davis, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and picks.

Allen

The Rumor: Sonics guard Ray Allen to be shipped out of Seattle.

The Reason: Talks on a contract extension have stalled. Allen's agent is seeking a near-maximum deal of $90 million over five years, while the Sonics are offering a reported $68 million over five years.

The Latest: Allen told the Seattle Times that "there's a great possibility of me being moved" and that Wednesday night's game in New Orleans could be his last with Seattle.

___________________

Thomas

The Rumor: Knicks forward Kurt Thomas to a championship contender.

The Reason: According to the New York Post, Knicks president Isiah Thomas is desperate to make his team younger by the trading deadline. Problem is, Isiah's only commodity might be the 32-year-old veteran.

The Latest: Kurt Thomas told the Post that he "won't be disappointed" if he is indeed dealt, especially to a title contender like San Antonio. The newspaper also reported Wednesday that Isiah Thomas is not allowed to trade the Knicks' first-round pick.

___________________

Robinson

The Rumor: 76ers forward Glenn Robinson for Hornets forwards Jamal Mashburn and Rodney Rogers.

The Reason: Robinson has been on the injured list all season allegedly because of ankle tendonitis. The Sixers would unload a player who doesn't fit into Jim O'Brien's defensive philosophy and keep the salary-cap room they covet. A knee injury has probably ended Mashburn's career, and Rogers can become a free agent.

The Latest: Sixers president/general manager Billy King told the Philadelphia Daily News that he's talked to the Hornets and other teams, but he won't "move any of our young players."
