I am thinking about giving out a line of NE -9.5.

9.5 and you wont get much action on the pats. you could be setting yourself up for a huge loss. ideally you would want equal money on both sides and you collect on the juice and cant lose in the situation. imo if the people you deal with are smart they would take the pats at 7 and then bet the eagles at 9.5 with you. games end up at 9 all the time, and it doesnt seem logical to give a line so far off from vegas. IMO stick with the lines that vegas has given out. maybe go to 8, but 9.5 is too much.

yep, I would move it to 8 then if you see alot of eagles bets come roaring in take it back down a half point at a time............ back to 7 or up to 9 but I wouldn't move it much more than that.

Eagles +7.5 should split the cash and you might even make a few extra bucks attracting people to grab the extra half point. Best of all you won't get slammed with heavy action on the Patriots or worry about a push! Don't move off the vegas line more than a half point or you could get heavy action on one side.

Whatever you decide tell everyone you are NOT changing it and DO NOT change it. You likely won't have enough volume or be able to attract new customers away from other books the way vegas and the internet shops do. The line has been at 7 now for a week and a half so that seems to be the number that's working. If Terrell Owens had announced he was not playing then I believe the line would have gone to 7.5 points.

1. They have been betting NE all year.

2. The public is already about 70% on NE.

3. I think NE will win by 10 or more.

If I give out a line at 8 or 9 I think I will still get more action on NE and I can just get it at a better line.

What is your hold position in dollars?? I mean how much action can you take before you adjust the line? Also if your line has to be moved more than 1 point on the pats I would consider letting everyone take larger bets on it and lay some of it off onto another book and reach your hold position.

but i dont really want to lose 10 dimes which is how much I am guessing I will be heavy on NE.

I dont think some guys will really get the juice movement idea just because a lot of people are not familiar with it.

But it might make them think about taking Eagles!!

I really like the idea of NE -7.5 laying -120 then if you buy it down to 7 you are laying -130. I will be able to get the line at 7 or 7.5

I'm guessing you must have a way you choose to go by now but lets look at quick example of your risks rewards..........

10k on one side maybe 2,500 on the other...........

spead mutiplier is 1.1............
11,000 bucks laid on NE
2750 Laid on PHI

your willing to risk 4k.............

2750+4000=6750
you would lay off 3250 on another book...........
you keep 7750 of action on NE ..........if Philly covers
you win 5,750 for a 4k bet........

If you slide the juice I think you might be better off giving the the half point on the 7 and then juicing the dog....... that takes more burden off your pocket book you know? Unless your starting to feels that Philly will cover with the half point tagged on....

i dont know what u gave out but i would give it -7-20 for now and see what kind of action u get.i would raise the line to 7.5 if u have more than 5k on the patriots and hopefully u will even out.
but remember giving it out at 7.5 it might end up by 7 .. i would never give it out any higher than that. keep all action, never pass any bets over cuz no matter what happens the HOUSE always ends on top.

Bookies can not pick plays to save their life! I don't know what it is but every book I talk to tells me they leave that to the players cause they can't pick winners!!!!

He always asks me if if someone makes alot of plays if he should call someone's plays in to someone bigger or hold it, lol (in other words, he's asking me to look at all of that guy's plays and tell him if i think he'll have a winning or losing night)....
