Going to keep all my playoff picks in this thread to save space.. Going to try to pull off the elusive 11-0 playoff run
Today's picks:
St. Louis(+4) over Seattle - Do I have to pick someone? When in doubt, take the points. This is more a pick against Seattle than anything, they just have a knack of blowing big games. Could barely beat Atlanta's 2nd stringers to grab the division crown. Alexander more focused on losing the rushing title than winning the division. St. Louis has some big game experience and it should help them pull out the W today.
NY Jets at San Diego (-6.5) - San Diego can pile up the points and have stopped some good runners this season. Pennington hasnt looked right since returning from injury, I think that is a huge advantage for the Chargers. Dont see the Jets being able to keep this one close by getting in a shootout, I only see them staying close if they can limit SD's points. Just dont see it happening today.
Also leaning towards both overs if anyone cares... BOL to everyone!

Thanks guys...
1-1 on the day, bad capping on the Jets/Chargers game. Forgot about 2 major things: #1) San Diego's 31st ranked past defense and #2) the coaching advantage of the Jets with Herm Edwards over Marty Schottenheimer (who cost his team at the end by being conservative in big games as usual).
The picks for Sunday:
Minnesota (+6.5) - These two teams just play each other close. I like getting almost a touchdown with an offense as explosive as the Vikings. This game probably comes down to a field goal in the end like their first two meeting, so when in doubt take the points.
Indianapolis (-10) - I'd take Indy up to about 14 points without any hesitation. You have Peyton Manning vs. Jake Plummer. I loathe Manning and how he runs up the score in the last 5 minutes against teams where he's already winning 42-10, but he's by far the best quarterback in the league, and Denver simply isnt good enough to keep up with the number of points Indy will ring up. In the playoffs I only like to take the underdog if I think they can win the game outright, and I think in this case Denver has no hope.
Thats all for this week... BOL on Sunday to everyone!!

Onto Round 2....
NY Jets at Pittsburgh (-9) - One of my big things in betting in the playoffs is to never bet on a team I dont believe can win the game outright. Thats the case here. The Jets MIGHT keep it close, but they wont win. Pittsburgh's defense will expose the Jets' limited offense, and their rushing will control the clock and tire out the Jets' defense. Pittsburgh by about 17 here.
St. Louis (+7) at Atlanta - Everyone is waiting on Colts/Patriots, but from a fun football point of view, this one should be the most fun to watch. Two teams built for turf. Tons of points should be scored. Not really sold on Atlanta, and the NFC race is wide open, wouldnt surprise me at all to see one of the 8-8 teams make it to the NFC championship game, and the Rams are my pick to do it rather than the Vikings. Taking the points here and enjoying what should be a great game.

Ugh 0-2 day yesterday.. I was right the Jets couldnt win, but a couple big plays covered the spread. I was plain wrong on the Rams though... hopefully I'll come back stronger today.
Minnesota at Philadelphia (-8) - Even without T.O. the Eagles are essentially the same offense that got them to the NFC championship the last 3 years. And the defense is better. I just cant see the Vikings winning this one. Andy Reid is a much better coach than Mike Tice. Minnesota defense is awful, they're lucky they got to play Green Bay last week who is just as bad on D. Philly by a couple of touchdowns.
Indianapolis at New England (PK) - I was hoping this spread might come down even further but I'll take this line. Not going to bet against the world champs, at home where they've won 18 straight, with the best coach in football right now on their sideline. Peyton Manning has to prove he can win at Foxboro, he's got an 0-6 record saying he won't. Pats' secondary might be depleted but the Pats will find a way to confuse Manning and win this one. Patriots by a field goal in what should be a great game.

Made my conference championship picks earlier today...
Philly (-5) over Atlanta - I think Philly's defense is too good to allow Vick and Dunn to run all over them. Atlanta's lack of passing attack is what does them in here.
Pittsburgh (+3) over New England - This is the game I debated about the past few days. Going with the home team thats won 16 in row. Everybody keeps bringing up how they barely beat the Jets. Well the Jets didnt really do squat except for an INT and punt return for a touchdown. In reality the Steelers dominated the Jets, although yes they were very lucky to get out of there with a win thanks to the missed FG's at the end of the game. Pittsburgh should be able to run the ball fairly well and I still dont trust the Patriots secondary. This should be a close game and I'm taking the points.
BOL to everyone!!

Sdiddy.....riding right along with you and BP on this one bro....don't see how Vick gets past the human missle Jeremiah Trotter at linebacker even if he does get past the Eagles D line......like the Steelers and the points at home....

The big finale...
New England (-7) over Philly - I think too many things have to go right for Philly to win this game. I think they need to force turnovers and maybe get a defensive score in order to have a chance. Philly's offense is not nearly as good as the Patriots. I see the Patriots putting up around 30 points, and I dont think the Eagles can match that kind of pace. I see a 28-13 game with the Patriots winning easily. AFC is simply too dominant over the NFC this season. Eagles would have been a 4 or 5 seed in the AFC and we've seen how the Patriots have handled everyone else in the AFC.
